As I grew up, I have always loved going to concerts and I have been lucky enough to go to a numerous amount with friends and family both. I have usually gone to see most of my concerts in different large venues like arenas and football stadiums, but never have I ever been somewhere so beautiful as the Gorge Amphitheatre.

1. It is home to so many different types of popular music festivals.

Paradiso, Watershed, Sasquatch and tons of other countless concerts

2. It has some of the best sunsets you will ever see.

You can't beat the view and feeling of the sun setting over the Columbia River while listening to your favorite band perform.

3. The campsites are filled with the most fun people you’ll meet.

While walking around the campsites, you will run into the happiest people everywhere you go.

4. Even if you don’t like camping, there are options for you.

Yes, there is an option to "Glamp" if sleeping in a tent surrounded by thousands of other tents isn't your thing ...

5. Being with your friends at the Gorge is one of the best memories you can make.

Some of my favorite memories ever of summer include the Gorge.

6. There are always rides to enjoy at the festivals.

There is always a couple options for rides at the festivals, including the ferris wheel which gives the most gorgeous outlook over the Ampitheatre.

7. The party doesn’t stop when the concert is over.

No matter what time it is at night, or during the wee hours of the morning, there are always people awake ready to have a good time.

8. People can’t get mad at 7 a.m. when everyone is awake and being loud.

You signed up to get woken up by blasting music at the crack of dawn ... There is no way around it; although you do start to get used to it after a while.

9. You will figure out that not showering for four days isn’t as gross and disgusting as you thought it was.

You will tell yourself you will shower somehow while you are there, and then you see the four hour lines for the shower, and you rethink your decision. You end up coming to terms with the fact that you will be covered in dust and sweat and there is nothing that is going to change that.

10. You will meet so many new people that you will makes so many different connections with.

Always make friends with the people in the concerts sitting around you, and the people in the campsites around you because sometimes you realize just how much you can have in common with a total stranger.

11. You will leave after the concert, counting down the days until you get to go back with your best friends.

I start my countdowns to when I get to go back the day after I leave.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
