As the warm weather goes away, many may be dreading the orange cold soon to come, but I don’t. This fast approaching season is fall, and I fell in love with it many years ago. It has all the necessities for good weather, not to mention tons of extra goodies to make it even better! As this beautiful season is coming about, I started to think about why I fell for fall, and I came up with 11 reasons. If you’re not already swooning over this season, read and fall in love.
1. Weather
It is the perfect weather. We just got out of the scorching heat of summer and are getting a cool enough breeze and temperature that is just right before the freezing winter approaches. It’s like the middle soup in Goldie Locks and the Three Bears.
2. Sweaters
Who doesn’t love something warm to cuddle up in? Weather it’s a hoodie or your favorite sweater, you can wrap yourself in its soft warmth without fearing heat stroke. It’s finally the time for the comfy, warm clothes we all adore.
3. Boots
I have an extreme infatuation with converse and boots. When converse season leaves, I break out my boots. They have the same effect of a sweater: they warm you up and keep you cozy. It’s absolutely perfect and a great part of this beautiful season.
4. Colors
As a BGSU student, orange and brown is perfect to me. What better color scheme is there? Fall is full of it! Orange, red, yellow, and brown are everywhere. The streets, trees, and campuses are full of their vibrancy!
5. Beautiful leaves
Growing up in a rural area, I lived around a lot of hills and forests. Driving back from school and looking out my window at the gorgeous leaves always made me smile. It’s stunning. The trees are like ginormous bouquets of red, orange, and yellow flowers. Everywhere you look the bright beautiful colors are there. They decorate the world wonderfully!
6. Hot chocolate
Even though I could drink hot chocolate in the summer, fall is when it is completely acceptable and loved by all. It’s the mark of cold air and the need for a cup of something warm and sweet. No matter how you cook up your hot chocolate, it’s a magical chocolatey part of this great season.
7. The festivities
My family never did Halloween, so we had harvest parties. I loved them. We would smash pumpkins, play charades, go on hayrides, and enjoy each other’s company in a warm vibrant house. This is also the season for Thanksgiving which is obviously amazing for the food. But besides the piles upon piles of deliciousness, you have your family. You sit around at a big table full of people you love and love you. There is so much love and so many things to be thankful for in that room, so when it comes to thanksgiving, it really is nice to just slow down and be thankful for everything and everyone around you.
8. Fall break
Fall break, no matter what form, is always such a relief. You get to take a break to relax instead of cram, be calm instead of stressed, and be lazy instead of crazy busy. It’s nice to just slow down and enjoy the time off that Fall Break provides.
9. Snuggling
Fall break is also the snuggle season! It’s just beginning to get cold, so you get the overwhelming desire to snuggle up to someone you love. Whether it’s your partner or your favorite fat cat. It doesn’t matter! This is the season to snuggle up.
10. Smell in the air
I don’t know if anyone has ever noticed, but fall just smells good. Its air is crisp and cool. It’s wind breezes by you and rifles through your hair. It has its own fragrance that overwhelms but excites you. It wakes you up and gives you good vibes for the day ahead.
11. Leaf Piles
You should reevaluate your childhood experience if you never built and tumbled into one of these. Leaf piles are singlehandedly the greatest idea parents had to make their kids do a chore. They sweep up all the leaves into one big pile then plummet into the soft colors! It was so much fun growing up and always brings a smile to my face when the fun of fall comes each year.
Because of all of these, who couldn't fall in love with fall?
