In sixth grade, I watched the movie "Legally Blonde" for the first time. The film empowered me and I remember staying up late to watch it on my iPod religiously. I love how the protagonist, Elle Woods, took her hard breakup and she pushed through and made something positive out of the situation. Elle breaks the norm and seems beauty in everyone. I believe the Elle Woods is a powerful woman to look up to.
1. Elle added her own uniqueness to everything.
A resume with a statement, she always knew how to stand out in a good way.
2. She cared about animals.
In the second movie she advocated for animal rights and throughout the first film her best pal, Bruiser, was always by her side.3. She lifted others up.
Elle was a good friend to everyone. She made sure others felt confident and saw their inner beauty.4. She trusted her gut.
Elle Woods went with her gut and believed Brooke Windham was innocent. Elle didn't fall into the pressure of everyone thinking Brooke was guilty and proved that she was right all along.
5. She didn't hold a grudge.
No matter how nasty Vivian was to her or the fact Vivian was engaged to her ex-boyfriend, Elle was always the bigger person.
6. She knew what she was capable of and believed in herself.
Elle not only used words, but also her actions to show how tough she was.
7. She used her femininity as a strength.
Without her knowledge of hair care, no one would have realized Brooke didn't murder her husband. And then she played it off like it was no biggie...Very humble.
8. She practiced "Treat yo self."
After a stressful day, she knew that she deserved time to relax. It worked in her favor and she ended up meeting a future best friend.
9. No matter how many times people wanted her to give up, she didn't.
Her own parents tried to talk her out of law school! Elle's classmates tried their best to make her give up, but she never did and ended up gaining their respect by staying true to herself.
10. She calls people out for undermining her intelligence.
She stood up for herself when others labeled her as a "dumb blonde".
11. Lastly, she never stopped working hard.
Her LSAT score was almost perfect and she always put her education first. She was willing to miss out of social events to study because she knew that it took hard work to succeed. She also ended up graduating Valedictorian. You go girl!
