11 Reasons Dogs Are Man's Best Friend

Dogs have always been considered superior to cats in regards to relationships with humans. Dogs are more friendly and fun-loving, plus they love attention. But most importantly, dogs are human's best friends for their qualities and characteristics.

1. Dogs are great listeners.

No matter the situation, people can talk to dogs for hours. Dogs will never interrupt your story. Dogs always keep their mouth shut, so you can easily finish explaining your story or situation and after, you never have to worry about your dog spilling your secrets to anyone.

2. Dogs are always excited to see you.

Whether you are gone for 10 minutes or 10 months, dogs will wag their tail and jump around when they see you return. Whether it is from a vacation or the grocery store, your dog is just happy to see you.

3. Dogs are great cuddle buddies.

Dogs love attention, and cuddling with you is all the attention they need. Lying in bed at night is their favorite part of their day. Dogs act similarly to a stuffed animal in the way that dogs want to just snuggle with you.

4. Dogs get you more active.

Going to the dog park or just taking your dog on a five minute walk, dogs get you to live a little more actively. Though some dogs may be too active and you can not keep up.

5. Dogs are never angry at you.

Dogs have moments of short-term memory, which means they remember certain things, like how much they love you. Dogs will forget you accidentally leaving them outside in the rain or you not taking them for a walk because you are too tired.

6. Dogs do what you ask -- most of the time.

After obedience school, dogs learn you are the one in charge. They know that when you say sit, they should sit; or when you say come, they should come. However, dogs are sneaky and they know how to push your buttons. They may sneak into places they are not supposed to or eat your food when you are not looking. And sometimes dogs refuse to follow a command because they really do not want to do it. If you were told to randomly sit in the middle of the sidewalk for a treat would you do it?

7. Dogs never ask you for anything.

Dogs will never make you pick them up from a party or make you take them somewhere nice for dinner. All they want is food and love, but they never ask you for it.

8. Dogs will protect you.

As the mailman walks up the driveway, your dog goes nuts the first few times because they think the mailman is an intruder. Dogs bark and growl and pounce, scaring the mailman half to death. Dogs let no one just walk into your house uninvited. Yet, after a few weeks, the dog learns who the mailman is and greets him with a wag of their tail.

9. Dogs are great house keepers.

When you are eating, everything you drop will be off the ground in ten seconds. You know there is no need to vacuum or sweep the kitchen because your dog has taken care of all the little crumbs.

10. Dogs are always there for you.

Happy or sad, dogs will always stay by your side. If you are excited and jumping around, your dogs will wag their tail and jump around. If you are crying and sad, your dog will sit next to you as a shoulder to lean on even though they have no idea what is going on.

11. Dogs will always love you unconditionally.

No matter your history, your dog just likes you, for you. You never have to prove yourself or change yourself to them. In the end, you and your dog are family.

girl with a hat

This is for the girls who have dealt with an emotionally, mentally, physically or verbally abusive father.

The ones who have grown up with a false lens of what love is and how relationships should be. The ones who have cried themselves to sleep wondering why he hurts you and your family so much. This is for all the girls who fall in love with broken boys that carry baggage bigger than their own, thinking it's their job to heal them because you watched your mother do the same.

Blair Waldorf Quote
"DESTINY IS FOR LOSERS. IT'S JUST A STUPID EXCUSE TO WAIT FOR THINGS TO HAPPEN INSTEAD OF MAKING THEM HAPPEN." - BLAIR WALDORF.

The world stopped in 2012 when our beloved show "Gossip Girl" ended. For six straight years, we would all tune in every Monday at 9:00 p.m. to see Upper Eastside royalty in the form of a Burberry headband clad Blair Waldorf. Blair was the big sister that we all loved to hate. How could we ever forget the epic showdowns between her and her frenemy Serena Van Der Woodsen? Or the time she banished Georgina Sparks to a Christian summer camp? How about that time when she and her girls took down Bart Bass? Blair is life. She's taught us how to dress, how to be ambitious, and most importantly, how to throw the perfect shade.

too tired to care

1. The awkward hellos on move-in day.

You're moving your stuff onto your floor, and you will encounter people you don't know yet in the hallway. They live on your floor, so you'll awkwardly smile and maybe introduce yourself.
