It is no surprise to those who know me that I am very much a dog person. If I had the choice, I would spend all my time surrounded by dogs and no one else. And that probably sounds super weird, but that’s okay. I stand by my love for dogs.
So here are 11 reasons why dogs are better than humans.
1. They always know when I’m sad.
Even when I don’t know I’m sad, my dogs seem to pick up on it. They never leave my side, they sit with me on the couch, they climb on my lap when I cry. They look at me like they know I need to talk about something. I don’t know how, but they know. And it is comforting knowing there is someone who is always there for you (that’s totally cheesy, but anyone with a dog knows what I’m talking about).
2. They get ridiculously excited to see you even if you’ve only been gone for 25 minutes.
I know it doesn’t seem like something that matters that much, but it is literally the greatest thing ever. It will instantly make you ten times happier than you have ever been. And the best part is that you never think they are actually going to get as excited as they do, but then it happens and it's the greatest feeling ever.
3. They get as excited about food as I do.
Dogs can get as excited about food as I do and no one thinks anything of it. If I were to actually express how excited I get about food, it would be weird. They understand the love for food. Basically, dogs are my spirit animals and I’m a bit jealous that they are socially allowed to jump up and down when they see a piece of chicken and I'm not.
4. They will cuddle with you...
No questions asked.
5. Dogs are yours for life.
Once you decide to add a dog to your family and they come to love you, they honestly will love you forever. The bond you have with your dog never goes away and you know they are always going to be there. And what’s even better is that they show you how much they love you every time they see you. As long as you give them love, you always know they will love you for their whole lives.
6. They are—and always will be—cuter than humans.
You really can’t beat the cuteness of a puppy. This is really the only reason I need to prove that dogs are better than humans. And to be honest, I think most people would agree with me. It just takes one look into the eyes of an adorable puppy, and your heart just melts.
7. They don’t judge you for being weird.
The best part about this one is that even though everyone’s definition of weird is slightly different, it never really matters with dogs. I can run around my house shamelessly singing “We’re All In This Together” from High School Musical (while also executing every dance move perfectly, I might add) and my dogs just sit there wagging their tail, enjoying it.
8. They are (relatively) low maintenance.
All dogs really want is food and love. That’s it. If you are capable of showing them love, they will never leave your side, no matter you do. (They occasionally pee on your carpet, but that’s a small price to pay for being so awesome, in my opinion.)
9. You can trust them with all of your secrets.
Since all dogs can do is listen, there the best ones to talk to when you have something weighing on you that you need to share. It’s a good thing dogs can’t talk, because that means you can tell them whatever you want and no one will ever know (Which brings me to reason ten).
10. Dogs can’t talk.
Since they can’t talk, it means you don’t have to listen to any nonsense that might normally come from a human’s mouth. Now obviously, dogs can definitely be quite loud and annoying, but they can’t talk, which automatically makes me like them more than humans.
11. They are just the best.
There is something about dogs that humans just can’t top. They are your best friend, your cuddle buddy and someone who will love you no matter what. It just seems as though humans are not capable of loving the way dogs do, and that kind of love is something we humans should celebrate.
Basically, my point is that I love dogs, and life would suck without the two most important little pups in my life. This goes out to my faves, Frodo and Zoey.
