Concerts are extremely special for many reasons. They're a place for music lovers of all kinds to come together and enjoy a night away from the real world. For this reason, I'd much rather spend my money on a concert experience than on material possessions. These are the reasons why.

1. They give you something to look forward to.

Every time you cross a day off of your calendar, more excitement builds inside you. Whenever you have a bad day, you remember that you need to keep going to make it to the day of your concert.

2. They give the music more meaning.

Every time you listen to the music of an artist you're about to see in concert, you picture yourself finally hearing it with your own ears. Then, after the concert, you remember exactly how the artist performed the song and experience it over and over again.

3. They help you make unlikely friends.

Meeting people in real life who are as passionate about something as you are is the best feeling ever.

4. You realize that the artists are actually real living and breathing humans.

They actually exist and they're right there in front of you. They're not just a beautiful picture on your computer screen.

5. You realize you're not the only one who's crazily obsessed.

No matter how insane you're acting, there's always someone who doing something way crazier.

6. And that gives you the freedom to dance like no one's watching.

Concerts are the perfect place to let go and dance your heart out. Again, there is someone out there with weirder dance moves. I promise.

7. You get to scream.

Screeching as loud as you can in public places is usually not socially acceptable, except for at concerts.

8. You get to forget about your troubles for a while.

Whatever you're stressed about can be bottled up and forgotten about for the night. Music is the best therapy.

9. They give you an excuse to dress up however you want.

I've seen people at concerts dressed in a variety of things such as bananas, inside jokes in the fandom, characters from the artist's music videos, or just wearing a simple t-shirt. The possibilities are endless.

10. They're inspiring.

Artists will commonly give some advice or share something personal about their music. There's no way you can leave a concert not feeling inspired in some way.

11.   For all of these reasons, they're addicting.

Once you go to one, you're hooked. The feeling of excitement, inspiration, and belonging is something we all wish we could feel 24/7. They may take all of your money, but they provide an experience like no other.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
