Little brothers are the best, simply because they are God's reminder that intelligence and fun can come packaged within a single human being. Jacob Jenkinson is the best little brother I could ask for and I can not imagine my life without him in it. This being said, here are ten reasons my little brother is the best.

1. He is my only brother

Great brothers who are also well rounded are hard to come by in this life therefore, I am extremely blessed that I get to share my life with Jacob and I don't take any of this for granted.

2. He is the business to my creative side

Jacob is the logical balance to my creative side, while we enjoy some of the same things not all of our interests are the same. For instance, while I sit here at Simpson University studying English my brother is studying business at Indiana University. When we were in high school, my brother tended to enjoy math and science while I loved English and History. Jacob, throughout his lifetime, has provided the reason and the black and white fact behind my crazy scatter-brained self for years even if he has never realized it.

3. Jacob lives up to his name

While biblically the name Jacob means the deceiver and he may have lived up to that meaning when we were younger, it isn't true anymore. Today he has lived up to his biblical namesake's second name of Israel which means he who wrestled with God. I love him for all the times that he has questioned and wrestled with his faith to better understand God's plan for his life.

4. His Sarcasm

Jacob Jenkinson is literally the funniest person I know.

5. He loves people deeply

Jacob loves people deeply and would do anything for those who he cares for. I admire the love he has for people whether it be for my various family members or his beautiful girlfriend.

6. His laugh and smile

I don't think I have ever told him this but I love the sound of his laugh and the look of his smile each of these things being me so much joy every time I have the privilege to see them.

7. His Gentleness

Jacob has a gentle spirit that is honestly very beautiful to witness as he walks through life.

8. His cooking skills

My cooking skills are limited to pretty basic foods like Mac and Cheese as well as Grilled cheese. Therefore any cooking ability that surpasses that is better then mine and Jacob's skills in the kitchen without a doubt surpass mine.

9. His constant mispronunciation of words

My family has story after story about the many words he has mispronounced over the years and we all love him for it.

10. He's not afraid to ask the tough questions

He asks the questions that I used to be afraid to ask myself...

11. Our height difference

I'm 5 ft tall while he is roughly 6 ft tall so when we happen to hug every now and then it's a pretty funny picture.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
