11 Reasons 'It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia' Is The Best Show On TV
Den Of Geeks

"It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia" is, in my opinion, the best sitcom on television at the moment. For those of you that are unfamiliar with the show, it follows the absolutely absurd adventures of five narcissistic alcoholic best friends that own a bar in southern Philadelphia. While that description may not sound all that appealing, this article will explain 11 reasons behind this show’s genius and hilarity.

1. The gang’s brutal honesty with one another.

The gang is absolutely ruthless when it comes to calling each other out. In real life, we feel obligated to indulge friends’ stupid questions and silly aspirations. The gang, on the other hand, does not put up with this for a second. In fact, the moment one of them says something remotely annoying or stupid, it is free reign to roast that person.

2. There is literally no one in their bar ever.

The entire premise of the show is that this group of friends owns a bar, but I’m fairly certain the only time the gang had patrons was when they opened their doors to brace-faced minors.

3. It’s aggressively politically incorrect.

There are very few shows on television right now that continue to push the envelope quite like "It’s Always Sunny" does. The gang is pretty much completely oblivious when it comes to what is acceptable and what isn’t.

4. The actors are the directors.

For some reason, knowing that executive producers are the three main characters makes this show all the more hilarious. I cannot help but picture those three guys sitting around at a table brainstorming what the next ridiculous thing they are going to do on the show will be.

5. The actors are married.

Mac and Dee are two members of the gang that are notorious for fighting with one another. They consistently insult each other’s personalities as well as their looks. Not to mention that Mac has blatant homosexual tendencies. And yet, the two are married in real life. Charlie and the waitress are also married in real life which just makes his desperate attempt to win her over and her rejection all the more hilarious.

6. Charlie.

Charlie Kelly is by far my favorite character on "It’s Always Sunny." This scene speaks for itself regarding how hilarious Charlie is.

7. The gang’s truly pathetic life.

Watching the gang’s struggles is not only humorous, but it always make me feel better about some of the poorer choices I’ve made in life.

8. It’s cringe-worthy.

This show is blatantly disturbing at times. I have watched every episode of "It's Always Sunny," and I still find myself cringing at some of the things they try to pull.

9. We never heard the waitress’ name.

Despite Charlie’s obsession with this woman, no one in show calls her anything besides “the waitress". This episode is when Charlie envisions growing old with her. Per usual Charlie, his vision is in cartoon form and mirrors the plot line of "Ratatouille" and "Up."

10. The plot line is absolutely idiotic in the best way.

For example, this particular episode follow Dennis and Charlie as they report to the cops about someone that shushed them in a bar.

11. Charlie Kelly.

Once again, Charlie is one of the main reasons why "It’s Always Sunny" is so amazing. I typically hate the token dumb character in TV shows, but Charlie is a different story. His responses in this clip are absolutely unreal.

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?

I've been super busy lately with school work, studying, etc. Besides the fact that I do nothing but AP chemistry and AP economics, I constantly think of stupid questions that are almost impossible to answer. So, maybe you could answer them for me, and if not then we can both wonder what the answers to these 15 questions could be.
