In my last four years as a student at Oklahoma State University there is something that is slowly going away. While I wish it was the amount of construction going on in this town, it is a tradition that is known as Orange Friday. My freshman year (2013-2014) I remember walking by the fountain and seeing its bright orange water on Friday, the student's sporting the brightest orange in America and thinking I go to the best school in the land. However the fountain now is only orange during homecoming (thanks MSU), and students aren't wearing orange. Here are 11 reasons you should wear America's Brightest Orange every Friday.
1. YOU GO TO OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
2. YOU ARE A FRESHMAN AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
3. YOU ARE A SOPHOMORE AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
4. YOU ARE A JUNIOR AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
5. YOU ARE A SENIOR AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
6. YOU ARE TAKING A VICTORY LAP OR LAPS AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
7. YOU ARE A GRAD STUDENT AT OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
8. IT IS FRIDAY
9. YOU WENT TO OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY
10. YOU ARE A POKE
11. YOU ARE A DAMN COWBOY
If your excuse is you do not own an orange shirt, either you just transferred, or you need to go buy one because you can't go to the school who's color is AMERICA'S BRIGHTEST ORANGE and not own an orange shirt. You also don't ever have to worry about what to wear to class on Friday because it should be ORANGE.
