Independence Day is great for so many reasons. Our country has stood strong for centuries, so let’s celebrate and show our love for America.

1. Independence Day

As everyone in America knows, the 4th of July is Independence Day for America. This year will mark 240 years since America has gained its' independence from Great Britain. Amazing!

2. The food

Independence Day is all about the picnics. There is so much food! Everyone in America knows that the 4th of July means BBQ’s, pasta salad, watermelon, and the list goes on. This holiday is definitely an awesome one for anyone who loves food.

3. Fireworks

Seriously, there is something about fireworks that brings the whole town out of their homes. You will see so many people that you never even knew existed in your town. The firework business is a huge money maker around this time of year too. Fireworks are the biggest and most exciting characteristic of Independence Day.

4. Family

Another great reason to love the 4th is because it brings the family together. Families gather together for cook outs, fireworks, corn hole tournaments- you name it! I love spending the weekend and the actual 4th of July with my family during this time of year.

5. Red, white, and blue

For some reason, these colors just seems to click. Red, white, and blue match perfectly. Everyone always loves to deck themselves out in a brand new 4th of July outfit or swimsuit. Not to mention, there are so many cute red, white, and blue decorations around town.

6. Parties for days

The days before the 4th of July are all filled with parties. Everyone always wants the days off from work to spend time celebrating. The good thing is that there are always so many leftovers from all of the parties!

7. Parades

Parades are another fun part of this holiday. There is no better way to show the love for your country other than celebrating as a community. The participants and the audience can both have a great time and get pumped up for the holiday.

8. Fun dessert recipes

Pinterest is filled with so many creative 4th of July recipes. You can make so many easy and healthy desserts with red, white, and blue ingredients. Look some Independence Day recipes up this year!

9. Backyard fun

As a kid, I was always so excited to participate in all of the fun and games, and I still am. Swimming, corn hole tournaments, slip and slides, and volleyball are fun activities for everyone at the party. With all of the Independence day partying, you will get your fill of fun.

10.The History channel

If you are a history nerd like me, Independence Day is clearly a historic event, and so many shows about this historic period are on televised. If I had the time to watch all of the Independence Day movies and shows, I totally would.

11.The patriotism

There is so much pride and happiness that surrounds the 4th of July. America comes together as one on this day. Our country has been through a lot, and still we’ve always managed to come back stronger than ever. I am truly so proud to be an American.
