Is there anything more miserable than rain on a college campus? You get soaked to the bone walking into class with wet shoes, wet clothes, and a wet backpack. When the end of the day comes, all you may want to do is curl up in a warm blanket and stay inside. What better to do than to pull up Netflix with a cup of ramen? Here are some of the greatest tv shows on Netflix that are perfect for those rainy days!
1. Breaking Bad
Start your binge watching career here. AMC's, Breaking Bad, is one of the highest rated dramatic television series. This show will have you constantly on your toes. If you're going to be hooked to anything, it'll be Breaking Bad.
2. It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia
If you like dry, horribly comedic shows, you have found your match. Always Sunny is about four narcissistic friends who own a bar in Phili. It's a classic comedy with raunchy humor. This show will surely have you laughing even though it's dreary outside.
3. Dexter
One of Showtime's greatest drama series, Dexter, is a perfect way to embrace the dark and erie weather. Dexter Morgan is a blood splatter analysis for the Miami police by day and a serial killer by night. This series will have you chewing your fingernails to the nubs with as many plot twists as murders.
4. Nurse Jackie
Jackie Peyton is a nurse with a serious drug addiction. While this may sound like a really depressing show, it's actually quite funny. Jackie has an attitude like no other: straight and to the point but also very hidden. Watch her life turn upside down as it down pours outside.
5. Grey's Anatomy
Speaking of hospital shows, everyone has heard of Grey's Anatomy. The show follows a group of interns looking to be surgeons. Things get hairy with affairs, medicine, and relationships. This is a great show to sit down and have a bag of popcorn ready to eat away at.
6. The Walking Dead
If you like shows where you get invested in all of the characters' lives and then most of them die, then take a look at AMC's, The Walking Dead. The show begins in Atlanta, Georgia when Rick Grimes wakes up in a hospital to the zombie apocalypse after he suffers from a gunshot wound. While everyone wants to figure out how this happened, they have to think about survival first. Take notes, the rain could only be the start of it.
7. Criminal Minds
If you like shows about finding the killer, here's a great one for you. The show follows a group of BAU (Behavioral Analysis Unit) detectives who find serial killers. This isn't a show where you have to start from the beginning so pick and chose your episodes. You might end up analyzing everyone after this show, like I do now!
8. Weeds
Another great Showtime comedy, Weeds, is about recently widowed mom, Nancy Botwin, trying to maintain her upscale lifestyle by selling marijuana to her friends and other clients. She has two boys who keep her on her toes at all times while struggling to make enough money to support them. She ends up getting herself into some trouble but it's not all dark. The comedy relief makes the drama worth it.
9. Family Guy
If you really want to die laughing, here's a great animated comedy about the most dysfunctional family out there. The Griffin family faces some pretty outrageous but also semi-relatable situations.
10. Orange is the New Black
Now if you want drama, look at this Netflix original series! Piper Chapman gets sentenced to 15 months in a women prison for a crime she committed when she was a reckless youth. Old secrets and relationships resurface as her sentence goes on. Get hooked while you're stuck inside like Piper.
11. How to Get Away with Murder
Annalise Keating is a renowned defense attorney who teaches law at Middleton University. She selects five students to help her defend clients but these students get wrapped up in their own murder case, causing everything to turn upside down. Affairs and secrets keep everyone on their toes and you will be the same. One minute you tell yourself, "Just one more episode." Then all of a sudden it's 3 am. That's what this show does to you.
