I love rain days, at least when I am not expected to do anything! There are so many things that you can do on a rainy day that are just better because it is raining. I love the rain. It makes me smile. I am that girl who wants to dance in the rain, as long as its warm! Here are 11 activities I love to do when it rains.

1. Dance

There is just something freeing and energizing about letting lose and dancing. Sometimes you just have to let loose and dance. for one reason or another it is even better when it is raining. It is almost like the rain is washing all of your troubles, stress, and anxiety away.

2. Walk my dog

Rain can be calming and when its warm, I like walking my dog because she does not quite understand rain either and it is really cute, plus its just nice to be just me and her for a little while.

3. Listen to music

Sometimes it is just too cold to dance in the rain so instead, you pump up the music inside and dance all around the house! right? Or at least that is what I do!

4. Read

And other times you need the comfort of other people without having actual other people. In this case, I read. For me, reading is entering another world altogether and I love it!

5. Netflix

Other times, your eyes hurt and you just want to watch. whether its normal T.V., Netflix or Hulu, It all has the same effect.

6. Online Shopping

Now this can be dangerous... I can spend all day shopping online, but problem is I end up spending a lot of money too...

7. Lay in bed all day

Sometimes we just need to sleep, or at least do nothing and the sound of rain can be so relaxing and mind numbing. It is amazing

8. Drive

Driving in the rain can also give you that calming relaxing feeling. soft music, rain pounding on the roof, and an endless country road in front of you.

9. Organize and Clean

There is something about rain that just makes staying in side, cleaning and organizing so much easier to do. Or if your like Monica, you can vacuum your vacuum!

10. Cook or Bake

I love to cook and bake anyhow but, on rain days it goes in over drive. I want warm baked chocolate chip cookies or fresh baked zucchini bread.

11. Go to the Movies

It can be nice to just sit in a cold movie theater, eating popcorn, and wondering if the storm is in the movie or outside!

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
