The semester is coming to a close, we're all going back home for summer break or entering post-grad life. Personally, I look forward to going home because that means I get to go back to some of my favorite places. Yes, all these places will revolve around food or drinking but who doesn't love food and drinking?
1. Dunkin' Donuts
This one is really irrelevant for those who didn't leave New England for college. But once you leave, you realize there's no Dunkin' like New England Dunkin', maybe it's our dirty water but it's just better here.
2. Marylou's
Truly #blessed to live on the South Shore of Massachusetts because not everyone gets to enjoy a nice medium iced peanut cup with skim milk to kick start their morning.
3. The Bridgewaye, Humarock
My family is guilty of either eating here or ordering here once a week, but I'm not complaining. Their clam chowder is on point and their chicken caesar pizza is to die for. A great stop after a long beach day.
4. The Jetty, Marshfield
I'm going to be honest, I've only ever had the chicken fingers here but man, were they good. But my personal favorite reason to go to the Jetty is to drink with friends. Great options that won't necessarily kill my wallet and there's a lot of live music, especially in the summer. Drinking, friends and live music-- what can be better?
5. The Venus, Marshfield
You know everyone is always down for Club V.
6. Rivershed, Scituate
One of my personal favorites. It's a small little bar before you head down to Scituate Harbor. It's pretty easy to miss because tucked away in a little corner but it's worth the find, and they have Downeast Cider on tap, so life is pretty good.
7. TK O'Malley's, Scituate
Everyone probably knows at least one person on staff or maybe everyone. Although you may not go on a cold winter's night, but a warm summer evening -- on their deck -- 10/10 would recommend.
8. The Galley, Scituate
Right down the street for TK's is the Galley. It's small but they have great drink options and if you want food, they have a great list of tapas.
9. Farfar's, Duxbury
Maybe I just get sentimental about this place because we used to stop here before going home from a day at Duxbury Beach, but their ice cream is delicious.
10. Dairy Twist, Pembroke
Orange creamsicle twist with rainbow sprinkles, please.
11. The Ming, Marshfield
All right, let's be honest, we're all at least a little happy the Ming is back up and running. I'm personally excited for scorpion bowls and karaoke.
