1. Please for the love that's all good in this world, do not go through the drive thru if it's your first time at Smoothie King

Visual representation of what the employees look like when the customer tells us "Give me a minute, it's my first time here I'm going to look over the menu." First of all, we have over thirty smoothies, all with descriptions of what's in each smoothie not to mention the enhancer menu. Just please come inside and look at the menu and order when you are ready. Because by looking over the menu in your car, you just push back the line and more often than not there are two cars behind.

2. Our Friday Specials include two different prices.

The medium smoothies with a Golden MR (Meal Replacement) are $6 meanwhile the rest are $5. Do not pull up to the window wondering why your smoothie is $6.50 when you ordered a Hulk or something protein based

3. We know, we should include the order online function on the app.

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me we should add online ordering, I'd be able to buy my own Smoothie King location. The matter of the fact is yes, we know a lot of other busy places do it as well but have to understand that lots of their things are already premade meanwhile making a smoothie takes a lot more effort. You have to make sure it's not too watery, it's not too thick etc.

4. Check your coupon location before using a coupon.

Some Smoothie Kings don't use certain apps, you can't get mad at us for you not reading your coupon carefully. It's frustrating for us just as much as you when you order 2 smoothies because you have a buy one get one free and you end up only taking one because your coupon doesn't work at a location or is expired.

5. Friday is the busiest day of the week for us, be kind and considerate when coming in.

Friday shifts are hectic everywhere. We have all four blenders going off at once, all the fruits, ice, juices, enhancers, and powders are low, and there's no time to wash the dirty dishes in the back. It may take more than two minutes for us to get you your smoothie but understand that we are trying our best.

6. Tips are greatly appreciated.

It's understandable, most of the customers are college students are tight on money but leaving your change even if it is the coins is enough for us. It eventually adds up. We appreciate whatever we can get, be it twenty five cents or be it a dollar.

7. Order like this: Smoothie choice, size, add on (if desired)

I can't tell you how many times I have listened to a customer tell me their smoothie then add enhancers, take out ingredients and substitute certain things before telling me the size they want. I can't customize the order without knowing the size first.

8. Employees when they hear customers say obscene things to each other when at the drive thru window

Listen, I know you gotta talk to your pals about the crazy party that night and about how much Brad is sending mixed signals, but just know that we, the employees, are also listening to your rant. Not because we're nosy, I mean sometimes, but we can't turn off our headset...so just be aware.

9. Again, please, I beg of you, do not come in ten minutes before closing time.

Okay, listen, we enjoy having customers, it is what keeps the chain running, but we are ten minutes from closing, meaning most of our dishes, powders, blenders, sinks, trash bins, are cleaned. AND if you don't know what you're ordering yet, oh my goodness help us all.

10. Add different things to your smoothies, be spontaneous, you may discover your all time favorite smoothie.

Sometimes you may find that adding something weird to your smoothie actually tastes pretty good. When you leave the store, the employees will sometimes taste the contortion you just made and sometimes we like it too.

11. Please take these into consideration because it will make our lives a whole lot easier.

If the customer is happy and ready to order, so are we. Enjoy your smoothie, your day, and visit us again soon!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
