We may not wear glasses, but any form of vision modification comes at a price.
1. Dropping them.
Laser vision comes out. Then the contact solution.
2. Learning how to touch your eye.
In kindergarten, I would gag at people that would touch their eyeball. Now I do it every single day. Funny how people change.
3. Things in your eye.
Think getting soap or an eyelash in your eye hurts already? Try having a translucent layer of suction clamping it to the most sensitive surface of your body.
Bonus: You can't take out your contacts without your eyes open.
4. People think you're crying.
Eyes tear up whether you want them to or not. At least people are being observant.
5. Dry eyes.
It's even harder to keep your eyes open when all the moisture has been sucked out. Also, if someone with contacts requests the air vents pointing a different way, please abide — especially if they're driving.
6. The fact that they can be inside out
Do it once and you will never forget.
7. Sleeping.
One more action separating me from my bed. I guess I could sleep in them and pour straight solution in my eyes in the morning. Same thing, right?
8. Eye makeup
Vision, then glamorization.
9. Wearing glasses again.
"When did you get glasses?" Seventh grade. Everything is smudgy. I'm never doing this again.
10. Swimming.
Treacherous. Be extra careful going under because do you know how hard it is to find something dime-sized that matches the pool?
11. The Fold.
PEOPLE WITH CONTACTS KNOW THE PAIN.
But it's all worth it to see, right?
