As a Bath & Body Works employee, there are many objects that I now look at differently as a result of my time with the company. Based off of what I have gathered from my experiences, I came up with a list of objects that mean something more to Bath & Body Works employees. Thanks to what we, as employees, have learned on the job, these objects have grown on us and hold an important place in our lives.
1. Aprons
Contrary to popular belief, aprons are not just for cooking. This is the staple of our dress code; you don't go on the floor without an apron on.
2. White Shirts
The only reason our closets house numerous white tees is because they are on the dress code.
3. Black Shirts
On the rare occasion when black shirts are on the dress code, I pull my shirt out of the closet with much excitement. It's a blessing, really.
4. Scent Testing Papers
The bane of our existence. They can be found in any and every crevice of the store, folded accordion style or even in stacks. Contest to see who can collect the most?
5. Band-Aids
For cardboard cuts, not paper cuts.
6. Shoe Racks or Caddies
Whether your store has a shoe rack, lockers or cubbies of some sort, this object is without a doubt important. It holds our lives until we have completed our shift.
7. Hand Sanitizers
Starting a shift? Sanitize. Going on break? Sanitize. Time to leave? Sanitize. Any moment ever? Sanitize. It is the solution.
8. Boxes
What was that you said? 205 boxes of shipment? Sounds like that's my workout today.
9. Box Cutters
Before this job, box cutters meant nothing. Now, they mean everything.
10. Name Tags
Our identity. Except when we bend over and the tag falls out.
11. Our Current Products
At some point in everyone's career, we develop a passion for our products. This explains why I am able to find every product ever made throughout my house.
12. Our Throwback Products
We cannot forget about the times we spend reminiscing with coworkers and customers about the classics. Our products have their own stories. They mean something more.
