I'm getting tired of people overusing "I'm sorry." There are certain things you don't have to attach an I'm sorry to. Sure, it's right to apologize for wrongdoings. But apologizing for how you feel? For needing help? For not agreeing with someone? That's another story. These are 11 things you should never apologize for:

1. Telling the truth

The truth is essential to having peace of mind and building positive relationships. Don’t apologize for telling someone something they don’t want to hear but need to hear. Sometimes the truth hurts.

2. Having an opinion

You have your own opinions and you don’t need to conform in order to fit in. Don’t be sorry for supporting your own beliefs.

3. Being confident

You. Are. Fabulous. Do what makes you happy and don’t worry about pleasing others before pleasing yourself. Remember to always love yourself. Don’t apologize for showing the world what an awesome person you are!

4. Having emotions

It’s OK to cry. It's OK to laugh. It's OK to be angry. Don’t ever apologize for “being too emotional." Emotions make us human.

5. Not answering a text right away

Whether people want to believe it or not, you’re a busy person! Never say sorry for not answering a text right after you read it or not returning a call right away. If people back in the good ol' days had to wait weeks for letters to be delivered, your friends can wait a few hours for a response from you!

6. Letting go of a bad friend or relationship

People aren’t always who they say they are. Don’t apologize for leaving these people behind and moving on with your life. Bad friends and bad relationships can be exhausting and they’re not worth it if they no longer make you happy.

7. Having a big heart

If you love someone, tell them. Love with all you have. Don't feel too "clingy." Be a hopeless romantic. Don't ever apologize for caring about or loving someone so much.

8. Asking for help

You don't have all the answers and that's OK. Seek help from that tutor, doctor, teacher, friend or counselor. Don't be sorry for needing guidance and support.

9. Having a messy room

Clean rooms are always nice, but if your room is messy one day, don’t apologize! It’s your space and you shouldn’t feel bad that it's not up to others' standards.

10. Getting dessert

Life is short…Eat the chocolate cake.

11. Being yourself

Never, ever, ever apologize for being you. You are unique, special and perfect the way you are. Remember to always be true to yourself and don’t let anyone try to knock you down. If people don’t like you for who you are, they are the ones who should be sorry.

5 Things To Do That Are Better Than Writing A Paper

Don't waste your time trying to write that paper when there are so many more interesting things you could be doing.

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?

sisters

I can barely remember back when I was the only child. Most would say it’s because it is extremely difficult to remember things as a toddler but I would say it's because I was bored until my sister came along. My mother always says how important the "sister bond" is and with every year that passes I realize how right she is. Instead of writing a novel about all of the wonderful things there are about having a sister I decided to list a few of them instead.

It is the time of our lives that we are beginning to enter the adult world and most of us, if not all of us, have no idea what we are doing. It's like starting a video game, but skipping the tutorial. We're all just running around aimlessly hoping we accidentally do something right that moves us along the right path. Now that graduation has just happened, or is right around the corner for some of us, it's time to start thinking about how we are going to take care of ourselves once we are on our own.
