Every country has its own unique cuisines. But if you happen to visit Vietnam or come to a Viet restaurant, don't hesitate to give these food a try

1. Banh Mi (crispy baguette with different stuffing).

Different from the soft sandwich style, Banh Mi brings you the crunchy taste and crackling sound right on the first bite. The sandwich can be filled with grilled pork, chicken, tuna, with pâté (pork liver), mayo, pickles and cucumber. With the busy lifestyle of Vietnamese people, Banh Mi is the fastest, most convenient and yummiest food you can get for any meal.

2. Com Tam (broken rice with pork, shredded pork skin, egg...)

It's called broken rice because the rice is actually smashed to have a smaller size than the normal rice in order to give the taster the softer feeling. But the best thing about Com Tam is not the rice but the mixture among grilled pork, shredded pork skin, eggs and the irreplaceable fish sauce. The uneven texture will give you a sweet taste from pork, salty from fish sauce, powdery and chewy from shredded pork skin.

3. Bun Bo Hue (beef noodles soup).

Vietnamese Food is famous for noodles soup because we have no less than 30 noodles dishes and all of them have a totally different taste. Bun Bo Hue is a specialty of the central part of Vietnam. Bun Bo Hue has a bolder characteristic with a more savory taste.

4. Mi Vit Tiem (roasted duck egg noodles soup).

Even if you're not a fan of duck, you must try this. The broth is cooked from duck, shiitake mushroom and other Eastern spices that will bring a very unique, elegant taste of herbs. The duck is also simmered in the broth so that the flavor is absorbed thoroughly all over the meat.

5. Thit Kho Hot Vit (braised pork belly with eggs).

Everyone loves pork belly, but this braised pork belly is the king. This is a very traditional and classic dish that is extremely tasty but really easy to make. The seasoning style of this dish won't disappoint anyone because there isn't a part of the dish that does not have a taste.

6. Bo Ne (sizzling beef with egg, pâté, fish, sausage).

Rib-eye steak cooked on sizzling plate. It's called "sizzling" because when the dish is served, the food is still cooking with the sizzling sound. It's served hot and instant. Added sides include pâté, egg, sausages, tuna, etc.

7. Bo La Lot (grilled beef wrapped in wild betel leaves).

If you like rolls, you will get obsessed with this seasoned grilled beef rolls. Grilled beef is great itself, but now it's has an added herby taste dipped in a peanut black sauce.

8. Banh Hoi Thit Quay (crispy pork belly with vermicelli noodles pads).

This dish is only served on special occasions like weddings or memorial days. The crisp from the roasted pork belly will make you long for a second serving. Soft vermicelli pads complemented for the crunch of the pork creates a perfect cuisine.

9. Balut (fertilized duck egg).

A lot of people who know about this dish thought it was disgusting. But we aren't eating a live baby duck. You can't see its figure either when eating because the duck is squeezed in the egg. The egg is only three weeks old. A lot of people also question about the hardness of the duck's beak, but keep in mind the baby duck is really young. There isn't a complete duck yet so everything is really soft. The different between a normal egg and a balut is that the balut gives you more tastes than normal egg's plain taste. Most also eat this with tamarind sauce and peanut (as pictured).

10. Che (sweet dessert with different types of fruits, jelly, tapioca and pudding).

Che is a unique dessert from Vietnam. It might called "sweet," but it does not contain as much added sugar as cookies or cake. There are many different types of Che. Most of them are made from coconut milk, fruit, beans, jelly, tapioca and pudding. In the extreme heat of Vietnam, a cup of icy Che can't be more satisfying.

11. Iced Milk Coffee.

You can be missing Vietnamese Coffee if you visit Vietnam or go to a Vietnamese restaurant. It's a culture and it's an addiction that a lot of Vietnamese and foreigners become coffeeholics. Traditional Vietnamese coffee is brewed from a Phin filter and sweetened with condensed milk.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!
