A bond with your mom is the best bond there is. Your mom can be a best friend like you've never had. She understands you, she is patient with you, she listens to your rants, she boosts your confidence, she comforts you when you need it most, she enjoys your goofy side, she helps you when you get into exasperating situations but will tell you when you're being an idiot, she gets your humor when no one else does, she's the most forgiving person in your life, and nowhere feels quite like home without her. If you're with your mom right now, give her a big hug for me. Then watch some of these movies, cry a little, and cuddle.

1. "Steel Magnolias"

While the plot of this movie isn't directly about a mother and a daughter, there is a great mother/daughter relationship in it. It's a movie that will make you laugh and cry in the same 30 seconds. The women in this movie have a bond closer and stronger than most and the things they go through together make this movie complete.

This movie makes you appreciate the bond you and your mother share. It shows all the little things that only a mother and daughter could understand, like how you can read her emotions before she's said a word, or how you tell each other every grimy detail about your lives. It's a wonderful movie about the love of a mother. This movie is another one that can make you laugh and cry in the same 30 seconds.

3. "Beaches"

This movie is a good one for mother/daughter movie night because of the friendship and strong relationships in it. It's about two best friends who go through absolutely everything together. She is desperate to break tradition, but her mother doesn't want her to stray. In a wish gone wrong, Merida is now desperate to break a spell turned dark. It will make you appreciate how sometimes hard your mother can be on you. She always means well and just wants what is best.

8. "Little Women"

This is an old English classic brought to life on the screen. In it, we see vivid relationships and a great tale of love and family. The old story that we all loved looks fantastic in modern picture. The story brings tears to your eyes and a smile to your face.

A meaningful story about learning to love and grow with each other. This story is about a step mother who looks after the kids to the best of her ability, even when they despise her. It's a difficult journey for her, the kids, and the mother, but soon they all find that without each other they wouldn't have the love they share.

11. "Anywhere but Here"

A story about a sensible young girl who doesn't get along with her wild mother. They move all the way across the country and discover that they see life in very different ways. These two bump heads on almost everything, except one thing, their love for one another. For as long as I can remember, I have been listening to The Beatles. Every year, my mom would appropriately blast “Birthday” on anyone’s birthday. I knew all of the words to “Back In The U.S.S.R” by the time I was 5 (Even though I had no idea what or where the U.S.S.R was). I grew up with John, Paul, George, and Ringo instead Justin, JC, Joey, Chris and Lance (I had to google N*SYNC to remember their names). The highlight of my short life was Paul McCartney in concert twice. I’m not someone to “fangirl” but those days I fangirled hard. The music of The Beatles has gotten me through everything. Their songs have brought me more joy, peace, and comfort. I can listen to them in any situation and find what I need. Here are the best lyrics from The Beatles for every and any occasion.

Small towns certainly have their pros and cons. Many people who grow up in small towns find themselves counting the days until they get to escape their roots and plant new ones in bigger, "better" places. And that's fine. I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought those same thoughts before too. We all have, but they say it's important to remember where you came from. When I think about where I come from, I can't help having an overwhelming feeling of gratitude for my roots. Being from a small town has taught me so many important lessons that I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

You might change your mind about a class you want to take and must struggle to find another class to fit in the same time period. You also have to make sure no classes clash by time. Like I said, it's a big hassle.

This semester, I was waitlisted for two classes. Most people in this situation, especially first years, freak out because they don't know what to do. Here is what you should do when this happens.
