Anyone who knows me well knows that I really enjoy food. Like, I really enjoy food. When I was in high school, I used to tell people that I had "a deep passion for good food" to make it sound better than it really is. When I first started writing this article, I had plans to title it something like, "11 Things You Can Relate To When You're Easily Excitable" or "11 Things That Get Me Pumped." I identify myself as easily excitable all the time. As I sat creating my list, though, I realized a common theme - every item on my list was somehow related to food. It was an embarrassingly true reality, fam, but you know what? I just decided to roll with it. I hope you enjoy my list of food-related moments that get me pumped up, and what better way to express my excitement than with a bunch of pictures of cute little kids?

1. Waking up with enough time to make yourself a yummy breakfast

There's no better way to start off my day than a three-egg omelet with ham, mushrooms, and spinach.

2. Walking into work and seeing that someone brought in a good snack for the office

Aw snap, my midday snack just got upgraded!

3. Dive-bombing into your fridge/cupboard after a long day because you know that you just went grocery shopping

Please don't let me have bought my favorite snack. It's over, fam.

4. Coming home to a fantastic-smelling dinner...or really just coming home to dinner of any kind.

When you love any and all foods like me, you get hype no matter what meal is being cooked. It's the foodie life, y'all.

5. Ordering your go-to dish at your favorite restaurant

You already know that it's about to rock your world. You don't even have to wait to taste it. Your tried-and-true never lets you down.

6. Trying something new and being blown away at how good it is

I can't believe I've gone this long without trying you. I've been missing out on so much. *sniff sniff* I'm so glad I've found you.

7. Seeing your food coming when eating out at a restaurant

I'm convinced there are few sights more beautiful. I mean, the first sight of your spouse on your wedding day or the first glimpse of your newborn baby would probably beat it, but spotting your long-awaiting food floating towards you on that blessed server's tray has got to be a strong third.

8. Eating said food after it has just arrived

God bless the people who ever go out to eat with me. I just silently revel in the deliciousness of my dish for a while, and then when someone asks me how my food is, I go into full Food Network mode. "How's my burger? Ugh, so good. The patty's got some great flavor to it all by itself, but the crispiness of the bacon gives it a great contrast in texture, and their special sauce gives it a hint of sweetness and urmph." (That urmph was me taking another bite.)

9. Plopping a scoop of vanilla ice cream on any warm dessert

I'm happy to have vanilla ice cream on a warm brownie, a slice of apple pie, a fresh baked chocolate chip cookie - vanilla ice cream makes everything better.

10. Not realizing that there would be food at an event and walking in to see a spread

It could be literally anything. Finger foods all the way up to a full-fledged meal and anywhere in between. I'm a happy camper. I basically dance my way through the line for food.

11. Meeting someone who loves food just as much as you do

Meeting a fellow foodie = immediate kinship. You go into the conversation as strangers, and five minutes later, you've shared your favorite place to eat in town, the short version of your go-to recipe, and your dreams and aspirations of a nationwide food tour.

For all my foodies out there, this one was for you. Don't let the haters stop your shine. Stay excited about your food, or whatever thing in this wonderful life that makes you feel like a little kid again.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
