Long distance friendships are a lot of work. However, they are very much worth it.

1. Social media is critical to your friendship

You like everything they post on social media.

2. All potential significant others need proper screening

You insist they must over the persons Facebook, Twitter and Instagram usernames ASAP.

3. Skype/Facetime/phone calls are a must

This is the next best thing to actually seeing them in person.

4. They are always on your best friends list on Snapchat

You are happy the ugly pictures you send will never see the light of day.

5. Meeting their new significant other is exciting

It’s scary for the significant other though. They hope they’ll make a good first impression! No one will ever be good enough for your best friend, but they can come close.

6. You constantly text them

"I miss you so much." followed by three crying emojis.

7. You send each other outfit selfies to make sure you look okay

Your self-esteem is boosted by their positive response.

8.Even though they are so far away, they give the best advice

9. You constantly check each others locations on the app 'Find Friends'

You promptly text them ‘You’re at _______’s house? Get it girl!’

10. You get jealous when you see a picture of your bff and a new friend

Its okay because you know no one could ever replace you.

11. You check the weather in their town to see what their day will be like

"Wear a coat today."

12. You aren't ashamed to admit how much you miss them
