If you've ever found yourself in the middle of one of Meredith Grey's monologues on "Grey's Anatomy" and thought to yourself, "yes, that is so true," well, what can I say -- she's really good at that. She sometimes makes us look at the harsh realities that people don't like thinking about, but that's 'dark and twisty Meredith' for you. Here are 11 of Meredith's life lessons that everyone should always remember. Always.
1. Just because you're not happy doesn't mean something is definitely wrong.
Happiness is subjective. Plus if you're always happy all the time how will you learn to deal with your other emotions?
2. It's okay to be a little selfish.
If you don't think about yourself, who will?
3. Grudges aren't always worth it.
Grudges are just dead weight. Let go of them.
4. What will be, will be. Sometimes.
Even if things seem really crappy. This is just a little something you can always lean on.
5. You don't always need someone else's crap.
While helping and being there for people when they need you is great, remember to also take care of you and know when you feel like you need to step back. You go through things too!
6. Just survive one day at a time.
Because sometimes that's the only game plan we have, and that's okay. You don't always have to know what's coming.
7. It's completely okay to feel like this from time to time.
Everyone has a bad day; everyone gets served a mountain of misery.
8. Be brave.
You definitely have it in you.
9. Know when to back off.
You can't please everyone and you can't always be there for everyone. People take time.
10. Life is full of surprises.
But you probably already knew that one.
11. And sometimes life is just... strange!
Yeah, those days can happen too!
