By now, we’ve all finished watching “Friends”—and rewatching it, and rewatching it one more time. If you’re like me, you’re probably on your third or fourth loop (and if you haven’t religiously watched “Friends,, you really need to get on that. Like seriously, stop reading this and go watch “Friends”. Go.)
By following the stories of the six friends, we’ve all learned some pretty important lessons from their mistakes and their triumphs. Here are some of those lessons.
1. Maybe water is thicker than blood.
The six people that make up the classic friend group on this show really do become each other’s family (except for Monica and Ross, because they’re actually family), and from bonds stronger than any other.
2. Everybody’s a little bit crazy.
And that’s awesome. In “Friends,” each character is a little loco—and I’ve found this to hold true in real life as well.
3. Sometimes things aren’t meant to be—yet.
If we can learn the lesson of patience from anyone, it’s Ross and Rachel. Even most novice “Friends” fans know what I’m talking about.
4. Most people come and go.
5. But some stay forever.
6. Life is hard.
"Friends" doesn't sugarcoat it. You don't always know what's gonna happen next in life, and sometimes you get a bit lost. But that's okay—it's all part of the journey and it all works out in the end.
7. Sometimes it’s better to just be friends.
*cough cough* Rachel and Joey.
8. People can change for the better.
Rachel wasn’t always the badass business-woman-fashion consultant-mom that she is at the end of the show. Remember Season 1 Rachel, a.k.a the helpless rich girl?
9. Be spontaneous: sometimes it pays off.
10. Success takes time, but your goals can be reached.
Joey’s acting career didn’t kickstart overnight. “Days of Our Lives” took him a few years to book, but look how worth it his journey was!
11. Friends are everything. Love ‘em.
