Sugar, spice, and even more spice comes in human form with Miranda Hobbes. Lawyer, mother, feminist, cynic, and best friend: Miranda Hobbes was often the voice of reason for the group of four. She said what everyone was thinking but never said; she never let anyone get the best of her; and she was also the most realistic. Sometimes that made her cynical, but other times it helped a lot more than harmed for four single ladies in New York.

1. Sometimes a change of scenery does us good…..

But not for others. No cell service for a lawyer with a kid? LOL.

2.) Ladies can be bosses, too.

3.) Ladies ARE bosses.

Basically, we don’t need you or your money. We are capable of doing anything we want on or own.

4.) Hearts lie when minds do not.

In this day and age it’s easy to put you heart above logic, but that was never happening for Miranda. She looked at things with perspective, and was never afraid to tell people how things were.

5.) You should seek out love that is mutual.

Everyone is entitled to love and respect, and if you are not getting that, there is no point in continuing any relationship. So move on.

6.) For the fellas that say they don’t like Beyoncé:

Also, for the guys who say much of anything.

7.) Diet? Doughnut care.

8.) Be opinionated...

Often, women are told to hush and be polite, but sometimes life throws curves at you. You need to tell those curves what’s up and why they should back up.

9.) Especially if you’re a woman.

From being a lawyer, she was used to being around men in power and having power too. This was often troublesome. She never let men treat her less because she was different from them, and that’s relatable to everyone.

10.) Let the good vibes roll.

What good does anger do to those who keep it inside? Nothing.

11.) Examine your friends

Maybe you’re a nice person and friends with everyone. Maybe you secretly hate some things your best friend does. Just be careful, because what we surround ourselves with we imitate, and soon enough we are saying those things we used to hate.

Although initially harsh towards men and any family dealings, Miranda was the first to have a child and stayed with her husband the longest out of all four of the women. She owned up to her mistakes, treated everyone the way they should be treated, and never sugar coated anything. She was not only a strong woman, but soft when she needed to be. Miranda was never afraid to never speak her mind and always followed her instincts, which is why she is still a woman to value in today’s society.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
