May is finally here it is finally warming up and yet another school year is coming to a close. It is going to be back to those lazy summer sunny days and taking a nice long break from college. Most of you will return home from living on campus and this means real food, an actual good night's sleep, and getting to see all of your old friends again. If you're wondering what you're going to do after the first month back home, here are 11 ideas of what to do over the summer.
1. Have a bonfire.
Invite all of your friends over and just relax next to a fire for the night. Tell your college stories, roast marshmallows, and reminisce about old times.
2. Go on a hike.
If its a nice easy hike with some awesome waterfalls along the way or a challenging hike in the Adirondacks getting out into nature and hiking all day is always fun and a nice workout.
3. Attend an outdoor concert.
The nicest part about summer is it's warm even in the evening and after the sun sets. What better way to spend a night than listening to your favorite band or artist live.
4. Take a road trip.
Get in the car with a couple of your best friends and go on an adventure for a day or the weekend.
5. Go to a Major League Baseball game.
Even if you're not a baseball fan going to an MLB game is a lot of fun. Most stadiums are in a major, historical city. Even if you don't watch the game its fun to just walk around the stadium, explore and enjoy the day.
6. Go to an amusement park.
There are so many amusement parks all across America and each one is pretty different from the next. Some of the major ones a Cedar Point, Hershey Park, Universal, and any of the Six Flags amusement parks
7. Go to a drive-in movie.
Going to a movie is always fun. But going to a drive-in is even cheaper. You get to enjoy the outdoors and see three movies for less that the price of a normal movie. It can also be an awesome date.
8. Golf all 18 holes.
Try to improve your golf game and enjoy the day.
9. Visit a farmers market.
Summer is a time that local farmers have fresh fruits and vegetables. Going to a farmers market and buying from them can help support your local farmers and help you eat better. This can also be a very fun date idea.
10. Explore your city.
Get out in your own city and find out what you don't even know is there. Visit the spots only a tourist would visit.
11. Eat outside on the patio.
Make a nice lunch or dinner with the items you got from the farmers market and go sit outside while you eat it and enjoy the weather. This can also be a great date!
There are so many great ideas to get out and stay busy this summer. Just make sure you relax and have a good break from school and don't watch Netflix all summer long. Have a good and safe summer everyone!
