I have been living in Redding for 2 school years now. After starting school, I soon realized just how much I needed to get outside on the weekends in order to breathe and be able to do school well. So, since my freshman year, I have almost spent ALL of my weekends outside, rain or shine. Here are my top 11 that are my usual 'go to's'
11 Hikes To Go On When In Nor Cal
1. Burney Falls
Burney Falls has been featured in books and articles world wide. Seeing these spectacular falls is especially life changing.
2. Whiskey Town Falls
Hiking this classic at Whiskey Town will only create more wonderful memories with the people you love.
3. Mossbrae Falls
This panoramic waterfall is something everyone should experience once!
4. Potem Falls
Something super spectacular about this waterfall. It is a short easy hike, and fills all your waterfall needs.
5. Lassen
If you are looking for a hike that maybe doesn't lead to a waterfall, this one is a must. The hike is rewarded at the tippy top of Mount Lassen with views that are breath taking.
6. Hot Springs
Looking for something a bit more relaxing on your body while still in nature? Look no more, hot springs may be your new favorite way to relax.
7. Hatchet Falls
This fall is an iconic swimming hole for the hot months. Yet, it proves to be just as beautiful whatever time of year you go.
8. Trinity Alps
Looking for something a little more secluded? Definitely try out a Trinity Alps trail - perfect for a one night backpacking excursion.
9. Hedge Creek Falls
If you are planning on heading to Mossbrae falls, this one is a must too! Both waterfalls are right by each other and are both great day hike plans.
10. Phantom Falls
This waterfall, if it hasn't already, WILL change your life. Make sure to go during the winter and spring months. (because the waterfall disappears other months, hence the name "phantom")
11. Castle Crags
Last but NOT least, Castle Crags state park. A beloved favorite to anybody who has gone.
