As the Summer anime season comes to a close in these last two weeks of September, the Fall season of anime is about to begin, bringing with it many titles that may seem overwhelming in their numbers. Here's a list to get you started!
1. Uta no Prince-sama: Maji Love Legend Star, Season 4
I know for me personally as well as many fans of the Uta no Prince sama otome franchise, Season 4, Maji Love Legend Star has been highly anticipated from the moment that Maji Love Revolutions, Season 3, ended on a cliffhanger and promised to "See [us] next season!". Tensions are running high between Starish and Quartet Night as they compete against each other in the Triple S Music Competition! They both gave mind-blowing performances and just as we began to think they would pick a winner and the epic music battle would conclude, in swoops none other than HEAVENS, who had been MIA since the end of Season 2 Maji Love 2000%, when Starish gave them a beating at the last competition to win the UtaPri Award. Now back with a new song, some vengeance, and seven members who, what a coincidence, look very similar to the boys in Starish, sharing personality tropes and even having the same number of members, they are trying their damnedest to steal this away from both Starish and Quartet Night to reclaim what they lost at the UtaPri Competition. Will they succeed? Tune in starting October 2 and find out!
2. Natsume Yuujinchou Go, Season 5
Natsume Yuujinchou is finally getting another season to pick up where the 4th season left off several years ago in 2012! For fans of this series, we are very excited to have our beloved Natsume Takashi, Nyanko-sensei and friends back on their beautiful, heart-warming adventures. Natsume can see spirits and inherited a book of contracts with various yokai called the Book of Friends from his grandmother. Nyanko-sensei guards Natsume in his dangerous endeavor to return the names of the collected yokai and to release them from the bonds that his grandmother imposed on them years before. Join Natsume and Nyanko-sensei as they work to return all of the yokai's names before it's too late!

3. Yuri!!! On Ice
Yuri!!! On Ice has seen a lot of hype recently thanks to its gorgeous animation and intense trailer sequences. Yuri!!! On Ice is a new sports anime adaptation that follows figure skaters in their quest for victory and personal growth. In the slew of sports anime that exists, there has yet to be one that focuses on figure skaters. It seems to be a new trend to have anime that follow less mainstream sports like All Out!! which follows rugby teams and the newly aired Cheer Danshi based on cheerleading. But, trend or not, this one needs to be on your list of new sports anime to watch if only to witness the stunning animation of the skaters' fluidity and motion. If the short trailers are any indication of what is to come, we are surely in for a gorgeously animated figure skating experience.
4. Haikyuu!! Season 3
Our favorite volleyball boys are back again for the ultimate battle against the behemoth champions at Shiratorizawa! Come watch as Karasuno climbs their way to the top and attempts to regain their title as National Champions and finally take flight the way they have in the past!
5. Bungou Stray Dogs Season 2
After the slight cliff hanger season 1 left us at the end of the Spring season, Season 2 finally comes to us to show us what shall become of our favorite magically gifted detectives, now that we've been introduced to the true, yet still nameless route of evil! With the Port Mafia supposedly quieted for now after Atsushi, Dazai, Kunikida, and the gang took down Akutagawa and his cronies, we're about to delve into another mystery with deep tangled roots! If this season is going to be anything like the first one, buckle your seat belts because you're in for a wild (but probably also pretty comedic) ride!
6. Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru
Touken Ranbu has been growing in popularity for several years now as an online RPG. Now, with its many attractive male characters who represent different swords in human form called the Touken Danshi who are supposed to aid the clan that is tasked with protecting and keeping history, they are coming to life for everyone in an anime that is hopefully more accessible for those of us who have wanted to find out about it and play the game but have been unable to for one reason or another. But, if you're interested in hot sword boys, this is definitely something you want to watch.
7. Ajin Season 2
Ajin started as a manga and the first season and set of movies aired last Fall and Winter seasons. Following an interesting boy named Kei, we explore a world of unseen monsters and immortality as Kei and "friends" try to escape the clutches of the mortal people who would rather experiment on them than leave them be! Catch the riveting continuation this October!
8. All Out!!
As I mentioned before, following a trend of niche sports anime, comes one about rugby! Don't know how to play or what that is? No worries! Based on my experience with sports anime, I'm sure you'll learn the basics just by watching this show! While this one seems to boast a little more muscular animation, it still looks clean cut and adrenaline inducing as all good sports anime are! Hopefully, this one will make for an interesting watch, since people have been talking about it for at least a year since it was first slated for an anime adaptation! Figures and merchandise have already been made and started to sell, so let's hope it lives up to the hype!
9. Hibike! Euphonium 2
Hibike! Euphonium 2 is the sequel to Hibike! Euphonium which is basically about a bunch of cute girls who join a brass band club and have fun in high school together playing their instruments, making friends, and of course competitions! Join these cuties for more brass music making adventures this Fall!
10. Drifters
Drifters, brought to us by Hoods Drifters Studio, looks to be a wild ride of action, adventure, and historical fantasy."Shimazu Toyohisa is involved in the Battle of Sekigahara, and manages to mortally wound Ii Naomasa, but is critically wounded in the process. As he walks from the field wounded and bleeding, Toyohisa finds himself transported to a corridor of doors where a bespectacled man at a desk waits for him. This man, Murasaki, sends Toyohisa into the nearest door where he wakes up in another world. There, Toyohisa meets other great warriors like him who have been transported as well, to be part of a group known as Drifters. This world contains both native humans and a number of fantastical races, including elves, dwarves, and hobbits. However, the world is at war, with the humans waging a losing war against another group of great warriors, the Ends, who wish to take over the world and kill all the Drifters. Under the Ends' command are many terrible creatures, including dragons, which they use to destroy everything in their wake." (Source: Wikipedia) I mean, magic, dragons, elves, dwarves, hobbits, and other craziness? Who wouldn't want to watch this and see where it goes? I for one will be watching this one as well!
11. Watashi ga Motete Dousunda/Kiss Him, Not Me!
Lastly, we round out the list with a comedy that has been looking for an anime adaptation for awhile now. Watashi ga Motete Dousunda, better known by the English title, "Kiss Him, Not Me!" is about a female otaku and fujoshi to boot who secretly loves to ship her male classmates romantically. She is overweight, but after the death of her favorite character in a devastating turn of events, she loses weight quickly and becomes a bishoujo that all the guys are after! In a usual reverse harem situation, the heroine would be beside herself surrounded by all these attractive guys who are interested in her and falling over themselves to have her pick one of them to be the lucky guy. However, in a shocking turn of events, she isn't interested in their advances! She only wants to imagine them with each other rather than herself. Be sure to catch this hilarious twist on a traditional reverse harem plot this Fall!
