11 Highlights Of A Workaholic's Summer Break

Summer break is a fabulous time for college students. Some people use the time differently from others. Most people use it to relax, take a break from school and try to have fun. As for yourself, you spend it working, getting ahead and saving money.

1. You never see summer break as an actual “break.”

While some people are vacationing, you’ll be saving money all summer long. That is, of course, if you don't spend it all on food.

2. Even when you have the day off, you tell your friends you’ll refuse to go in.

You tell your friends and family that you refuse to go in, no matter what. Today is your day off and you will not be taken advantage of!

3. Then, you’ll call back and gladly agree to go in.

Actually, maybe you could use the money. Plus, you did not have any plans for your day off anyway.

4. You don’t know why you keep looking at ads for summer jobs. You already have two.

Every summer work advertisement always looks so interesting. You wish there were more hours in a day and more days in a week so you could work more interesting summer jobs and internships.

5. Then, you think that maybe you should take some classes to get ahead at school.

But then you remember that there is no way that you could ever consistently take a day off in order to go to school because you are fully committed to your jobs.

6. When your friends from college ask you to make plans.

“Hm. Let me check my calendar. Can we hang out in two months? I think I have a day off then, but I’ll let you know." In fact, you do not even remember what their faces actually look like.

7. Going back to school will feel like relief.

At least you won’t be working nearly as much.

8. Until you get bored of not being able to work all of the time.

School gets repetitive, but every day at work is at least a little different. Plus, work doesn't come with homework.

9. Sometimes you have trouble keeping track of which job you have to be at.

You know you’re scheduled at 11 a.m., but where?

10. Work days feel so much faster than days off.

Days off drag because you miss working even for a single day. At least at your job you are up, moving around or keeping busy in some way.

11. You would not change it even if you had the chance.

Your friends might think that you’re weird, but you know you love it.

While some people think that you working so much is a bad thing, you know deep down you enjoy it just as much as others enjoy relaxing on their days off. Enjoy your working break!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
