It seems like these days most people are trying to eat healthier to lead better lives, and also because it's the thing to do. When I first attempted to eat healthy, I thought it would be hard because I don't like vegetables by themselves. I figure a lot of other people feel this way, so here are 11 awesome healthy foods and recipes to try this summer.
1. Jalapeno turkey burger.
Turkey is usually healthier than ground beef, and the jalapeno will give it a little kick to make it taste even better.
2. Coconut banana paleo cookies.
This is a pretty simple recipe but is a much healthier alternative to a normal cookie because it has a lot less sugar and fat.
3. Cornbread salad.
This may sound gross, but it is just like a five-layer dip, and you can put any type of veggies you want in it including tomatoes, peppers, beans, and corn.
4. Roasted red pepper hummus veggie wraps.
This is an especially good choice if you're trying the vegetarian lifestyle.
5. Fresh corn, tomato, and mozzarella salad.
Three simple ingredients. Mix it up and maybe add some lime juice or your favorite seasoning.
6. Quinoa bowl with chicken and avocado cream.
This gives you some meat and some veggies for a perfectly balanced meal.
7. Banana/almond butter French toast sandwiches.
An incredibly yummy snack or breakfast.
8. Clean veggie burgers.
A really healthy way to make a burger and top it off with some guac and tomato.
9. Fried egg and avocado toasts.
This is a great way to start off your day for breakfast.
10. Bulgur bowl with apples, almond butter, and goat cheese.
This would be something to fill your every snack craving.
11. Grilled cheese with toasted tomato spread.
This is a great lunch, and you can have pita chips with hummus on the side!
Eating healthy can be fun and easy and still taste amazing. Just remember guac can come in handy with almost anything!
