The time of year where things go bump in the night has finally arrived, it's Halloween! Many of us are over the age where it is acceptable to go trick-or-treating and you may not feel like putting on a costume and spending the evening with strangers at some crowded party, but you can still celebrate this frightful holiday! All you have to do is cuddle up in bed with candy and movies and you're set! If you're not into the gory slasher films that are so popular this time of year, I've made a list of all the great Halloween movies without the scares!
1. Hocus Pocus
This movie has everything that Halloween is popular for! With witches, ghouls, curses, and black cats, it's a great movie to watch to get into the Halloween spirit.
2. The Nightmare Before Christmas
This movie may sound like it doesn't belong on this list, but once you watch it you'll see why. With great spooky music and amazing animation, it's a great movie to watch when you're looking for something funny but with a spooky feel.
3. Casper Meets Wendy
You've probably seen this when you were younger, but you shouldn't count it out! Ghosts are abundant in this fun Halloween film!
This is another movie you probably saw as a kid. This version of Casper has plenty of tricks so just grab your treats and you're basically trick or treating!
5. Scooby Doo
I know you're probably thinking "okay what is with all the kid's movies," but you're the one who didn't want gore so this is what you get! Plus the gang travels to Spooky Island, what is more Halloween than that?
6. Beetlejuice
This movie is a classic! It just doesn't feel like Halloween without watching it! It's eccentric, and a little bit spooky, so it's perfect!
7. Any Halloweentown movie
You know you loved Halloweentown in your Disney Channel days. 10 years later these movies will be just as good so go ahead and binge watch them!
8. Phantom of the Megaplex
THis is another Disney classic but it's still worth the watch!
9. The Addams Family
You can't celebrate Halloween without watching this movie!
10. When Good Ghouls Go Bad
Bad ghouls scream Halloween so grab this one to really get into the spirit.
11. It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown
If you have yet to carve pumpkins, pop this movie in while you do so and you'll basically be the Queen of Halloween!
