11 Goals To Ring In The New Year

A Fresh Start

1) Eat Healthier

This is a big one for most people, and honestly is one the hardest things for me personally to accomplish as my all time favorite food is deep fried cheese sticks. However, I go through stages where I'll feel terrible through-out the day and I know it is because of my poor eating habits, so this year I've made it a goal to improve my diet.

2) Take Better Care Of Myself Mentally And Physically

As I've mentioned before, I tend to work myself up about things. I get extremely caught up and stressed about the little details in life, and need to allow myself more sleep and relaxation, rather than pushing myself to do more, and worry more than I should.

3) Try New Things

Whether it be food, or different experiences, I usually stay deep inside my comfort zone. This year I'm gonna push myself more to try new things.

4) Save Money

With college quickly approaching, I've set a few financial goals for myself that I'm hoping to accomplish by the end of this year to ensure a smooth transition between life now and then. I encourage you to do the same, whether it be for a personal purchase or something that will aid towards your future.

5) Random Acts Of Kindness

Each Month I'm hoping to accomplish at least 5 random acts of kindness and mark them down, as well as mark down any that others did for me, that way I can reflect on them at the end of 2018.

6) Pray More

At a point in time I started my day with a prayer before I got out of bed. I found it always helped me have a smooth start to my day, and generally made my day a bit better. Since then, I've fallen out of that habit and hope to get back into that this year. I think it's important to pray about your day, and thank God for the great days you've already had.

7) Forgive & Forget

I think this is something that is extremely important to keep in mind throughout the year, as 2017 showed me how fast one can fly by, and how little time we have here on this earth. Life truly is too short to hold grudges and be bitter about things. Letting go of the past will bring you so much peace for the new year.

8) Take More Bubble Baths

Now, I already take an excessive amount of baths, but it is such a nice thing to do for yourself when you've had a long busy day. So, really I would like to continue my streak of bubble baths.

9) Travel More

Being 18 and working a part time job, while in school, doesn't allow much lenience for travel, but this year I'm hoping to accomplish a few weekend get-aways.

10) Drink More Water

This year I'm hoping to drink only waters on week days (not including my coffee of course) and allow for other drinks only on the weekends. I always feel so much better internally and externally when I'm hydrated.

11) Radiate Positivity

I hate to say it, but I tend to easily fall into the path of negativity in certain situations. This year I plan to strive towards having a better attitude. I pray one day I'll be the person others think of when they think of a positive attitude.

I'm sure, like me, many of you received lots of gift cards over the holidays. After working retail seasonally, here are a few tips that I learned in order to make the employees at your favorite store just a little happier and not want to charge you extra on your purchase for being awful. Here are some times when you should be nicer to retail workers than you actually are!

5 Untold Struggles Of The Short Friend

I'm the Short Friend. I've been the Short Friend since about the seventh grade. I'm the one who stands in the front of the photos, gets made fun of for their height, and still shops in the kids department.

This article is not for the Almost Short Friends, i.e. the 5'3" and 5'4" Friends. No no, this is for the Actually Short Friends, i.e. the Barely Scraping 5'1" and shorter Short Friends.

11 Things All Call Center Workers Can Empathize With Better Than Anyone
Youtube

This semester I started my journey as a member of my University's Alumni Outreach Team. This means a lot of things, but primarily it means that I get to make phone calls to parents and alumni two nights a week to update contact information, collect things like business cards and volunteer hours, and even ask for money.
