This week, I binge-watched Netflix's show "Black Mirror" and let me tell you; I am all sorts of fucked-up. This show uses technology, both modern and futuristic, to play with your feelings and give you all types of existential crises. So here are 11 gifs that describes any newcomer's experience to this amazing show.
*SPOILERS AHEAD*
1.
This was me when I realized that each episode was its own plot and were standalone. This was also me when... you know what? This is me EVERY SINGLE EPISODE.
2.
When I knew that each episode would be messed up, and I prepared myself. But no one prepared me for "White Bear." Nothing ever could.
3.
At the end of "San Junipero," before the credits, I was filled with sadness at the prospect of the two lead characters of the episode not getting together. But as the credits went on and it showed that they DID get together, I cried tears of happiness seeing two people fall in love: two women nonetheless. My gay heart fluttered.
4.
At the end of "Shut Up and Dance" and this fateful image was sent to the characters:
5.
In the show's first episode, "The National Anthem," the Prime Minister had sex with a pig...and that is not a euphemism.
6.
This was me during the all of "Be Right Back." Hayley Atwell's acting was phenomenal, and the ending got me feeling some type of way.
7.
This was my face all throughout "Playtest." Was he in reality? Was he in the video game? WHAT IS GOING ON?
8.
This is me every. single. episode. Just when I think I figured it all out, "Black Mirror" decides to just turn my world upside down. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.
9.
"Black Mirror" makes me want to give up technology and live far away in the woods. You see how technology impacts the lives of the characters and in most cases, destroy their lives.
10.
The technology in "The Entire History of You" was genius and made life convenient, at first. I couldn't stop watching how the characters used it. But of course, this technology ended up ruining their lives, making me hate technology all over again (see number 9).
11.
"Black Mirror" causes you to reflect on your life, think about the technology you use, and question your morals. This show has made me cry, laugh, scared, and fall into existential crises. It's a series that is intelligent, ground-breaking, and inventive, and it is definitely worth watching.
