Thanksgiving is probably the #1 favorite holiday in the United States. As a college student, I miss my family and the real cooked meals that are made at home. When Thanksgiving comes, my family comes together to be thankful for each other, for our health, for the things we have, and the food we have. One of my favorite parts about Thanksgiving is all of the options of food. Also, a time to really say Thank you to your family members, friends, acquaintances, and appreciate the things you have.
Here’s a list of my top 11 favorite Thanksgiving foods that I’m thankful for.
I'm thankful for all existence of buttery biscuits. Biscuits are so good. I’m so thankful for their existence. Especially when I pair them up with my gravy.
Mashed potatoes. I'm also thankful for mashed potatoes. I enjoy mashing my mashed potatoes, even though my parent tells me to not play with my food. I mean really, who doesn't like mashing their mashed potatoes?
Turkey. I'm thankful for the turkey. The turkey is a classic to the whole Thanksgiving celebration. I personally hate cooking, but for the Thanksgiving gathering, I enjoy cooking the turkey throughout the day. The turkey represents that you can put little effort in to create a master piece that goes in the center of the table. Gobble gobble. Turkey is great.
I really need to take this moment to let stuffing know that I am thankful for its existence. Stuffing is so good, especially when it's cooked stuffed inside of the turkey. MMmmm pretty good.
Jellied cranberry sauce. Admit it, you also love jellied cranberry sauce just as much as I do. It’s so squishy, shiny, and easy to eat. This is also super easy to make since it comes out of a can.
That sweet cream corn. I love this corn, but never on the same plate as my other food. Never let this corn touch the other food. I'm also thankful for this color yellow that it brings to the Thanksgiving table.
Baby carrots. I love steamed baby carrots. They so soft and precious. How could you not love baby carrots? If you don’t like carrots, just remember they’re good for your eyes, and you are thankful for your eyes.
I'm thankful for potatoes au gratin, a dish with grated Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese, cream, thin sliced potatoes, and butter, you make a great dish.
I'm so thankful for drinks, like water, juices, egg nog, wines, liquor. All so good. It's important to have drinks while eating to balance how much food you're having.
Pie. I’m so thankful for all desserts, especially pie. There are all sorts of pies. On Thanksgiving, we have pumpkin, apple, blueberry, blackberry, cherry, mixed fruit, lemon meringue, you name it, you pie it.
