The leaves are finally changing color, the air is getting colder, and the drinks are getting warmer. After one hot summer, fall is finally here. It's my favorite season for multiple reasons--my birthday, Halloween, and just the entire 'fall atmosphere'. Every year once fall approaches I always make a mental list of things I want to do during the season, but never actually get around to doing. Perhaps making a list will motivate us all to get out there and embrace the beauty that is the fall. Here is a list of a few things you should make time for this fall:

1. Apple Picking

This might just be the most 'basic white-girl' fall activity to do, but who cares? If it gets you in the fall spirit, go for it! And what better way to enjoy the fall with the taste of a crisp apple and the smell of apple pie cooking in the oven?

2. Visit A Cider Mill

Playing off of the apple theme, a cider mill is the perfect place to go during the fall to get a fresh cup of cider and a donut. What a great way to start the day.

3. Have A Movie Night

One of my favorite things to do on a fall day is wrap myself in blankets and watch some of my favorite movies. Have a night to yourself or make a night out of it and invite friends over for wine and snacks!

4. Walk In A Park

The leaves are in their most beautiful state, so what better way to admire them than taking a walk through a park? Not to mention you can get a great form of scenic exercise in.

5. Visit A Pumpkin Farm

There are so many places you can go to pick pumpkins, and it's the perfect fall activity. Pick up a cup of coffee and find your nearest pumpkin farm and enjoy the day.

6. Carve Pumpkins

You have to do something with those pumpkins you picked, right? In my opinion, you're never too old to carve a pumpkin. Don't forget to save some of the seeds for toasting.

7. Make A New Recipe

Whether it's a dinner or a delicious pumpkin dessert, fall is the perfect season to have something baking in the oven. Pinterest always has the best recipes hands down.

8. Clean Out Your Belongings

Whether it's your room, car, or simply your purse, everyone needs a little "fall cleaning". The air is turning fresh so why not get a fresh start.

9. Go To A Farmers Market

Fall always makes me think of fresh fruits and vegetables. Thankfully the Farmer's Market around the corner from my house stays open through the month of October. I love walking there, grabbing a cup of coffee from a local vendor and buying a candle or a simple bouquet of flowers.

10. Read A Book

This is one of my favorites. There's nothing better than cozying up with a cup of tea and a good book. Light a fall-scented candle on the table next to you and enjoy a little down-time.

11. Go To A Haunted House

If there is one thing you want to do with friends this fall, it should be going to a haunted house. As scary as it is, I always get a thrill out of screaming my lungs out when things pop out at me.

We're almost half-way through October so if you can, get out and cross a few things off this list!

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.

7 Ways to Make Your Language More Transgender and Nonbinary Inclusive

With more people becoming aware of transgender and non-binary people, there have been a lot of questions circulating online and elsewhere about how to be more inclusive. Language is very important in making a space safer for trans and non-binary individuals. With language, there is an established and built-in measure of whether a place could be safe or unsafe. If the wrong language is used, the place is unsafe and shows a lack of education on trans and non-binary issues. With the right language and education, there can be more safe spaces for trans and non-binary people to exist without feeling the need to hide their identities or feel threatened for merely existing.
