Don't Let This Fall Go To Waste

Remember when college started in August and we were all really stressed/excited/freaking out with emotions? Me too! Now we are halfway through October and I am surprised at how fast the time flies. My favorite time of the year is October and November because of the cool breeze, the falling leaves, and the cute fall clothes! Somedays there seems like not much is going on as the temperature drops, but I am here to show you there are lots of fun fall activities to do.

1. Carve A Pumpkin!

Yes I know this sounds so cliche, but there really is something about carving a pumpkin when the leaves change color. If you don't like the messy side of carving, grab a few paint pens or sharpies and decorate away. This fall, my roommate and I decided to decorate the entrance to our dorm room. Here is a little inspiration for you. Carve or just color. The choice is up to you!

P.S. The burlap bow was the cherry on top!

2. Find A Haunted House

Grab a car full of friends and hit up your local creepy, haunted house. Dress warm, you might have to stand out in the cold while if you wait in line. Oh, and wear tennis shoes in case you have to run from any clowns or Micheal Myers. Maybe a haunted house isn't the best idea, but who doesn't love a good scare every once in while?

3. Paint Your Nails The Perfect Shade Of Fall

You know the deal, dark colored nails are in this season, and it's up to you to stay in style. Dark nail colors like plum, burgundy, midnight blue, black, chrome, and nude will give you the perfect look paired with any outfit.

4. Plan A Hike

Fall days can sometimes feel like long days. Don't forget to keep yourself active. Fill up your water bottle, grab the leash and your furry friend, and take a hike! This time of year is perfect for an outdoor walk or hike up the mountain. The leaves are changing colors, the weather is perfect, and you, my friend, can have a good day exploring nature.

5. Fall into Fall

Run outside and rake up all the leaves in your front lawn. Have you done it? Great! Now jump in them! I know it sounds like something a five year old would do, but everyone should be a child at heart.

6. Bundle Up

The best part about the cold weather is being able to bundle up in lots of blankets to keep warm. Grab your layers, make some coffee, put on a movie, or sit outside on the porch swing.

7. Smell good, Feel good

Take a trip to the store and buy something that smells just like fall and makes you happy! The best way to get into the fall groove is to smell toasted vanilla or baked pumpkin whenever you walk into your home. My roommate and I bought a Scentsy with Pumpkin Pie fragrance cubes to keep the fall vibes within the dorm.

8. Go Camping

One of my favorite things to do in the fall is to go camping. Whether you book a cabin or set up a tent the best life is one surrounded by nature. Start a bonfire, roast some marshmallows, and sing a few tunes.

9. Football Game

Everyone knows this time of year is meant for two good things: fall and football! Look into your favorite football team and get a ticket. You won't regret watching the teams tackle one another while you sip on coca cola and eat a pretzel.

10. Take A Photoshoot

Decide to get all dressed up and take a few fun fall pics! The best part about having a photoshoot is who you spend it with. Get your best friend and the camera. 3...2...1...Say "Cheese!" Here is a throwback of my best friend and I from our *cool middle school days*

11. Pumpkin Spice Latte

This one explains itself. Go to Starbucks and enjoy a Pumpkin Spice Latte, Happy Fall!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!

RBF, or resting b*tch face, is a serious condition that many people suffer from worldwide. Suffers are often bombarded with daily questions such as "Are you OK?" and "Why are you so mad?" If you have RBF, you've probably had numerous people tell you to "just smile!"
