Walking into a beauty store can be overwhelming: there are so many products to pick from! Which ones actually work? Which ones should you avoid at all costs? The only way you can answer these questions is if you buy the product and test it out for yourself. Or you could see what other people are buying and liking. Here are eleven of my favorite beauty products.
1. Garnier BB Cream Skin Renew Miracle Skin Perfector : $12.99
On a day-to-day basis, I don't really like putting a whole lot of makeup on my face. This BB Cream is super light and feels amazing on my skin. It doesn't have perfect coverage, but it does even out my complexion quite a bit! It is a little pricey, but I've been using the same bottle for months, and it still feels like there's a lot of product left. A little bit of this stuff goes a long way.
2. Revlon PhotoReady Concealer : $10.99
I hate liquid concealers. They feel heavy and so many of them you have to apply multiple coats to fully conceal those dark under-eye circles. This is the first stick concealer I've seen, and after I bought it five years ago, I didn't bother looking for another one. This concealer has amazing coverage, but it doesn't feel heavy. A year ago, I decided to try the Amazing Cosmetics Amazing Concealer because I had heard it was the best concealer. The Revlon concealer was just as good as this was and half the price! Hard to beat that!
3. Neutrogena SkinClearing Mineral Powder : $12.99
I have been using this powder since eighth grade. The sponge it comes with is amazing--one side is used for lighter coverage and the other for fuller coverage. On a day-to-day basis, I usually apply it with a brush, though, because I'm lazy and that works just as well as the sponge!
4. ULTA Illuminating Powder : $10
I was very hesitant to try a highlighter, even though they're all over the internet. I thought they would just make my face look greasy or sweaty. I am so glad I gave this highlighter a shot. It gives me a really natural and beautiful glow.
5. Anastasia Beverly Hills Beauty Express Brow Kit : $39.50
This is the most expense product on my list. But it really is worth every cent. Inside of the kit is stencils, eyebrow wax, brow powder, and eyeshadow for the brow bone. With the stencils, I found the perfect shape for my eyebrows. The brow powder is amazing, and the eyebrow wax really locks everything into place all day. However, Anastasia does sell individual sets of just the eyebrow powder, and if you already have an eyebrow shape, you could definitely get away with just buying that. When I run out of my eyebrow powder, I'm not going to buy the whole set again; I'm just going to buy the individual powder.
6. Too Faced Natural Matte Eyeshadow Palette : $36
This is also pretty pricy. But ever since I got this palette, I haven't even touched my other neutral eyeshadows. I use this all of the time: from everyday to more professional settings like an interview. The colors are gorgeous, and there are so many looks you can accomplish because all nine of the colors really go well together.
7. NYX Cosmetics Nude Matte Eyeshadow : $4.99
The shade I have is a gray one. The shadow is incredibly smooth and easy to apply. Sometimes eyeshadows can be either really sheer or extremely pigmented, but this is right in the middle. It's also easy to build, so most of the time when I use this product, I apply it all over my eyelid, then put a little extra product in the crease to give the look some definition.
8. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner : $19
This is the best eyeliner you will ever use. It's super easy to apply. Before I found this eyeliner, I would have the hardest time with lining my eyes. One side always looked thicker than the other or it wasn't perfectly straight. With this eyeliner, I have never had to redo my line. It will also stay on your eyelid all day long--with or without eyeshadow primer!
9. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick : $8.49
I have three shades of these lipsticks: Pearl, Demure, and Mink. They are all so smooth and light on my lips. I forget that I have them on. They don't really have a scent, which is nice. Out of the three, my favorite is Pearl. I love the look of lip gloss, but I hate how sticky it is. This lipstick looks like lip gloss, but it feels like lipstick.
10. Almay Smart Shade Lipbutter : $6.99
This is what started my obsession with lipbutters. This product is so smooth and creamy, but at the same time very pigmented. I have the shade Red - Light / Medium. It feels amazing on my lips, and it looks even better!
11. Stila Lip Glaze : $22
I have three shades of these lip glazes: Shortcake, Candy Apple, and Pink Sugar. When I bought mine, ULTA was having a "Buy 3 for $15" sale. This was around Christmas time, so maybe they'll do it again this year! As I mentioned before, I usually don't like lip glosses. But these aren't sticky at all, and they give a beautiful color. They are a little difficult to apply, but once the product is on your lips, it is not coming off!
Although I love these products, you ladies don't need them. You are beautiful just as you are. Makeup is supposed to be used to enhance your natural beauty, not cover up all of your imperfections.
Use these products to enhance your confidence. Don't use them to cover up your beauty.
