It's summertime!

Summertime is officially here! Even though for most college students that means internships and jobs, we still get the chance to escape for a week or two, and the best place to go... the beach. But going to the beach requires you to bring certain items with you (no one wants to get there and realize they forgot their favorite pair of sunglasses). Use this list as a checklist to make sure you are fully prepared for whatever beach adventure you and your besties are going on!

1. The Perfect Beach Tote

Ideally, it hold everything on this list, and maybe even zippers up to ensure you don't lose anything! It's big, but doesn't feel like your a lugging a suitcase around.

2. A Chic Towel

Towels have become trendy. Not only do you need the perfect swimsuit, but now you need a chic towel to go along with it. Thankfully, there are plenty of cute options at an array of prices.

3. Sunscreen

We all want that golden glow, but we also need to take care of ourselves. Find a sunscreen with at least an SPF of 50, and remember to apply it every few hours. But don't forget your face and your lips! Even with a hat and sunglasses you can get sunburned.

4. An Umbrella

As much fun as it is to relax in the sun, it is important to stay in the shade. Make sure to take a few hours everyday to get away from the sun (or at least the direct exposure of it).

5. A Fun Swimsuit

Since before spring break we have been scrambling to find the perfect suit for our spring break/summer adventures. Unfortunately, midterms often get in the way taking up all our free time before/after spring break. If you haven't had the chance to find the perfect swimsuit you still have the whole summer to rock the perfect one. So, get going and find the perfect suit!

6. A Great Cover-up

As if finding the perfect swimsuit isn't hard enough, you also need to make sure you have a cover-up. This can be equally as challenging as finding a bathing suit, but don't fret- there are many options...Plus, it's basically getting a new outfit!

7. Floppy Hat

It may be summer, but that doesn't mean you shouldn't protect yourself. Just like applying sunscreen, you should wear a hat to block your face, neck, and shoulders from the sun. This is a trend that will stay strong throughout the summer and how can you resist a hat that says 'hello sunshine' on it?

8. Sunglasses

The same thing goes for your eyes! Protect them with sunglasses that protect against UVA/UVB rays.

9. Mini Wallet

A mini wallet holds all the essentials (ID, cash, credit cards), and allow you to leave everything you don't need to be carrying around at home. A small cosmetic bag is also another cute option!

10. Book

The perfect beach read is something that you can constantly pick up and put down depending on your activities that has a story line that's easy to follow. Pick up a book by your favorite author or discover a new one.

11. Music/Speaker

You can't have a proper beach day without a killer playlist to match. Collaborate with your friends to create the perfect playlist or choose one from Spotify. Relax and enjoy your day at the beach with your loved ones!

Dear High School Friend Group,

My sweet angels, where would I be without you guys. We all grew up together because we either met in middle school or high school and watched each other grow up and get "old." We got to go to prom together and then graduate together. Then watched each other as we continued our lives in college, joining sororities and meeting people who will impact our lives forever. It all has happened so fast.

Oh college, we can’t live with you, but we can’t live without you. It’s a love/hate relationship, really. College is an experience that no one can ever prepare you for, and maybe that’s a good thing. You never really expect any of the things that college encompasses until you are there. College is fun, but don’t have too much fun. C’s get degrees, but they don’t get you into graduate school.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.
