Decorations, apple picking, pumpkin patches, candy corn—it's that time of year again, and Halloween is quickly approaching. With just a couple of weeks until the night that we've all yearned for as children, and continue to throughout college years, we're all scrambling through Amazon, Target, and Walmart trying to come up with an easy, cute, and inexpensive outfit. In case you haven't found the perfect outfit for this year, here is a list of the 11 easiest last-minute costumes to throw together.
1. Cat
Although it’s the most generic, it’s definitely one of the easiest costumes to throw together. All you need is a black outfit, cat ears, and a drawn-on nose and whiskers.
2. Vampire
If you want to be a little more original than a cat, yet still create an easy costume, a vampire is the way to go. All you need is, once again, a black outfit, vampire fangs, and red dye (red lipstick works as well) to draw on blood.
3. Tom Cruise from "Risky Business"
Even though this may be one of the typical college Halloween outfits, it’s definitely a classic. All you need is a button-down shirt, white ankle socks, boxer briefs, and black sunglasses, and you’re basically Tom Cruise himself!
4. Rosie the Riveter
Beyoncé did it, so why shouldn't you? Just like Beyoncé, throw on a blue, long-sleeve button down, a red bandana, and jeans, and you’re the perfect poster child for Rosie the Riveter!
5. Miley Cyrus
If you’re looking to dress up a little more exotic, Miley Cyrus is a must. You can wear just about any outfit as long as you wear you hair in the double buns that has recently become her trademark look.
6. Security Guard
To pass off as a security guard, you’ll need an all black outfit, aviator sunglasses, and a print out of the word “security” to tape to the back of your shirt. Yeah, it's not too exciting, but if you're trying to figure out a costume half an hour before the party, it's definitely an option.
7. Barbie
To transform yourself into one of the Barbie dolls from your childhood, all you’ll need any cute outfit, and a cut out of the Barbie logo to tape or draw onto your shirt.
8. Flo from Progressive
The costume may seem more intricate than it actually is, but really all you need to complete the Flo outfit is a white top, a blue headband, white jeans, and to complete the look, red lipstick.
9. M&Ms
If you want to branch away from the black outfits, an M&M costume is perfect. All you need is a red, blue, green, brown, or yellow shirt, and then tape on the M&M logo onto your shirt, and you’re all set!
10. Regina George
Who wouldn’t want to dress as one of the most iconic film characters of the 2000s? Regardless of whatever outfit you wear, as long as you have the two cut outs in your shirt, your costume will be immediately recognized.
11. Frat Boy
Frat, I'm sorry, fraternity boys. We all know at least one, but as long as you have guys friends, you'll have no problem pulling off this look. Throw on a pair of khaki shorts (preferably Chubbies), a button down shirt, Sperrys, ankle socks, and a hat, and you're one of the guys!
