Nearing the end of October, one of college kids favorite holidays is around the corner, and by that I mean Halloween. What's not to love about Halloween? You get to dress up however you want, there are always endless party options, the change in weathers, scary stories that give you a thrill, fun fall movies, candy, and much more. But there is a stress, which is deciding what to be, how to dress it up, and most importantly, how to pay for it. College students are already broke enough as it is and buying costumes can be inconvenient. But from my own experience, there is nothing you can't find using a couple bucks at hobby lobby, the darkest places in your closet, and a quick trip to the nearest thrift store. So, here's what you can be with your significant other, or closest BFF, without breaking the bank (and most of these have been tested by yours truly):

1. High School Heroes:

That old letterman and pom pom's in the closet have collected enough dust, break them out for a Halloween throwback Thursday.

2. Lumberjacks:

Pull out your favorite flannels, stick on some boots and pick up a toy axe to be a local lumberjack this season.

3. Tacky Vacationers:

Nothing says tacky like your Dad's Hawaiian shirts and a lei.

4. Meredith/Derek/Cristina:

Any Grey's Anatomy fan would appreciate this one, hit up your friend who is in Nursing school for the essentials to this costume.

5. Scarecrows:

A floppy hat, some face paint and an old button up can help make you a scarecrow this season.

6. Clinton Vs. Trump:

This one should be rather popular this season, you can dress up like extreme fans or even the politicians themselves through some business wear.

7. Mr./Mrs./Miss America:

Red, white, and blue, how free are you? Pull out all the paint and those Old Navy shirts your Mom won't stop buying you every summer.

8. Super frat & Super srat:

Be as stereotypical as you can in your outfit and use your fraternity/sorority flags for a cape!

9. Farmer and a Flower:

This is my favorite costume I have done, a pair of overall's and a homemade bra covered in flowers from Hobby Lobby, throw on your boots and you'll look like you belong in a garden.

10. Woody and Jessie:

The hats to these costumes are cheap and at any Walmart or party store, put on some boots and a flannel and call it a day.

11. Popcorn and Candy:

Like the 100th day of school you used to celebrate in elementary school, just buy the supplies and glue it to a shirt. I did this once and even made a red and white tu-tu for the popcorn bucket. Very simple, and very different.

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

As an English Major in college, I have a lot of writing and especially creative writing pieces that I work on throughout the semester and sometimes, I'll find it hard to get the motivation to type a few pages and the thought process that goes behind it. These are eleven thoughts that I have as a writer while writing my stories.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
