11 Countries To Move To If Trump Is Elected President
Darren McCoollester

As the 2016 presidential campaign really starts to take off, many people are afraid because Donald Trump is still in the race. What everyone thought started off as a joke has become a serious threat to the future of this nation. Trump becoming president could ruin the lives of many people and ruin the future of the country all together.

While I'm not suggesting Trump is without a doubt our future, there's still a chance. And it's a chance that terrifies me. So, I'm beginning to look at my options. If Trump were to actually take a seat in the Oval Office, I, and many others, would hope to be long gone by then. Here are a list of great alternative countries to move to if the rapture begins in November of 2016.

1. Denmark

Besides boasting incredible gender equality, low cost child care and excellent credit ratings, Denmark also has universal healthcare, low pollution levels and invented the Lego. Pretty great.

2. Australia

The life expectancy and education level of Australia is one of the highest in the world. The wildlife is rare, having many species only found on their continent. The economy is one of the strongest in the world and literacy rate is at 99 percent. Not bad for those down under, mate.

3. Iceland

Iceland is number one on Forbes list of "Top 10 Cleanest Countries" with a score of 93.5. The crime rate is basically zero. They're one of the top energy providers in the world. And they have no military but have excellent rescue teams and coast guards. Why not when you can get all this plus have breath-taking views of the Northern Lights?

4. Qatar

Qatar is the second richest country in the world, plus one having the lowest tax rates. It has incredible museums and natural spectacles like Dhal Al Misfir and Desert Rose. Plus, every child must attend government education schools from kindergarten to high school. Rich and educated? Sounds like a good deal.

5. Finland

Finland's literacy rate is 100 percent. It's said that one can count all of the nation's academic failures with your fingers. Their transport vehicles are punctual to the second so you'll never be late or running behind. Also, they drink tons of coffee. Seems like a good life.

6. Canada

Canada has high rate of life satisfaction, low murder rates and wide cultural diversity acceptance. Everyone is really polite and apologize for almost any inconvenience. Canadians make a lead in quantum computing, medical discoveries, space science and technology. Plus, it's right next door. You wouldn't be too far from home. Unless Donald Trump builds a wall on this border too.

7. Germany

Germany has a workforce of highly skilled people, little corruption, a high degree of innovation and large capital stock. Their capitol building is glass, representing a "transparency" in government works. The majority of Germany’s scientists have won the Nobel Prize in the Science category. Famous brands have stemmed from the German economy such as BMW, Volkswagen, Siemens, Audi, Adidas, Bayer, Nivea, Bosch and Mercedes-Benz. Plus, they throw some wild nationwide parties such as Oktoberfest and Karneval.

8. Singapore

Singapore is home to the Changi Airport, considered one of the best international airports in the world. This small country has achieved the rare distinction of having the highest number of millionaire households in the world. It finds its place among the top five financial centers and ports of the world and has policies for a clean environment. This is a great option to have.

9. Spain

Spain is reputable for having two common drinks that have a unique taste here: coffee and wine. The culture is very into dance as well. The world famous dance of Spain, the “Flamenco,” is declared as one of “Masterpiece of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity“. It's OK if you're into history too because Spain is ranked in 3rd position for having maximum number of World Heritage Sites. There's also a one-hour food fight at the end of August each year where people gather in the treats and throw tomatoes at each other. What's not the love?

10. Costa Rica

Costa Rica offers an excellent lifestyle at the best possible cost. It’s well established, transparent government makes this country more appealing, happier and fast growing. It is well known for its safety. The healthcare is also stupendous, with a life expectancy at 79 years old. Also, just look at those beaches. You don't need to ask me twice.

11. Japan

Strong religious freedom, excellent healthcare, high literacy rates and high life expectancy are some important factors that make Japan standout from the rest of the world. Japan puts a high stress on garbage collection and sanitation, therefore very few of its people die from disease. The workforce is pleasant and friendly, employees often showing compassion to their coworkers. And the japanese are inventors. The technology that comes out of this country always takes the world by storm.

Even if Trump isn't elected president, I still might move to one of these countries. Between the beauty and the great qualities, it looks as if the world is doing OK.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

It's not all morning coffees and singing along to the radio.

The Daily Struggles of Being a College Commuter

I've been in college for four years now. I spent half my time as a commuter and half as a resident so I've experienced both sides of the housing spectrum. One thing I've learned comparing the two is that my struggles as a commuter far outweigh anything I went through while living on campus. Commuters have to deal with the problems school brings along with a slew of other issues; I've filled up my gas tank in the worst kind of weather conditions and napped in random places in public more times than I'm proud to say of. This is a list of some of the most challenging aspects of being a commuter.
