With midterms coming up, I personally would rather spend my time binge-eating comfort food than studying. However, I don’t have the time nor energy to venture farther than High Street to find good food. So, here are my 11 recommendations for comfort food right here on campus.
1. Bacon from Scott Traditions
This bacon is big, crispy, and they’ll give you a huge pile of it. Plus it’s horribly bad for you.
2. Pasta from Sloopy’s
Most things from Sloopy’s are comfort foods, but my go-to is pasta, because carbs.
3. Coconut Macaroon from Oxley’s
If you love coconut this is a perfect treat. It’s a large coconut triangle with chocolate on the end.
4. Smoothies from the RPAC
Full of sugar, these smoothies are some of the best on campus and make for a perfect comfort drink.
5. Milkshakes from Sloopy’s
Their famous milkshakes are just as good as everyone says they are.
6. Yogurt from The Marketplace on Neil
If you’re looking for something a little healthier, (but not much), the marketplace has a large yogurt bar where you can add anything from fruit to chocolate chips.
7. Cane’s chicken on High Street
Pretty much anything from Cane's is warm and wonderfully fried, and their sauce is so good I’m tempted to drink it.
8. Smoothies from Berry Blendz on High Street
Right across from Barnes and Noble, Berry Blendz has a large selection of smoothies that are perfect for you studying (or Netflix watching) session.
9. Brownies/Ice cream from Kennedy Commons
KCOMM is famous for their soft serve ice cream machine with a wide range of toppings, but I’ve also found their brownies are a delicious chocolate choice.
10. Mac and cheese bites from Woody’s
While they only give you a few, the mac and cheese bites are some ideal comfort food.
11. Soft pretzels from the Union Market
It’s not quite Auntie Anne’s, but their cinnamon or salted pretzels make for a perfectly unhealthy lunch.
