Kinopoisk.RU

It is the holiday season, and most of us are rushing around trying to get last-minute gifts or traveling from place to place. The holidays are about spending time with loved ones and focusing on what is actually important. With all the festivities, shopping and traveling, we may lose the actual holiday spirit within us. To get the "bah-humbug" out of you here is 11 of my favorite holiday movie quotes that are sure to make you feel warm and ready for the season.

1. "Elf"

"I just like to smile! Smiling's my favorite."

2. "Miracle on 34th Street"

“Faith is believing in things when common sense tells you not to.”

3. "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation"

“Sometimes, things look good on paper, but lose their luster when you see how it affects real folks. I guess a healthy bottom line doesn’t mean much if to get it, you have to hurt the ones you depend on. It’s people that make the difference. Little people like you. So, Carl...whatever you got last year, add 20%.”

4. "Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas"

"It came without ribbons, it came without tags. It came without packages, boxes, or bags. Maybe Christmas doesn't come from a store. Maybe Christmas (he thought) means a little bit more."

5. "Deck the Halls"

“That's what Christmas memories are made from, they're not planned, they're not scheduled, nobody puts them in their Blackberry, they just happen.”

6. "Scrooge"

“There is never enough time to do or say all the things that we would wish. The thing is to try to do as much as you can in the time that you have. Remember Scrooge, time is short, and suddenly, you're not here anymore.”

7. "It's a Wonderful Life"

"No man is a failure who has friends."

8. "Scrooged"

“It's Christmas Eve. It's the one night of the year when we all act a little nicer, we smile a little easier, we cheer a little more. For a couple of hours out of the whole year, we are the people that we always hoped we would be.”

9. "Home Alone"

"This is extremely important. Will you please tell Santa that instead of presents this year, I just want my family back?"

10. "Love Actually"

"General opinion's starting to make out that we live in a world of hatred and greed, but I don't see that. It seems to me that love is everywhere. Often, it's not particularly dignified or newsworthy, but it's always there..."

11. "The Polar Express"

"Seeing is believing, but sometimes the most real things in the world are the things we can't see."

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
