Let's face it. Bookworms are beginning to dwindle down in society. There are so many good books out in the world that need to be read. These are books you should read if you don't like reading. They are the ones I wasn't able to put down. So, get off Snapchat and Instagram (no hate, I am an avid social media girl too), but get off your phone, read this list, then read these books.
1. "The Tragedy Paper" by Elizabeth Laban
OK, I could never choose a favorite book due to my extreme "bookworminess." However, if I ever had a "choose your favorite book, gun to my head" scenario, I might blurt this out. I'm not good at explaining books without getting carried away and telling everything... But, basically, this book follows a student who receives a box of CD's that tell him about his school's biggest mysteries.
2. "The Pact" by Jodi Picoult
There is love, there is confusion. For me there were tears. Lots of tears. This book will make you think about your morals, and question them. Another book that is hard to put down and the content makes it easy to read.
3. "The Chain Letter" by Christopher Pike
This book has a very "I know what you did last summer" plot. This book is 200 pages that flew by in one night for me.
4. "The Count of Monte Cristo" by Alexandre Dumas
Don't think you are getting through this list without some oldies but goodies. A man who is wrongly put in jail escapes and is out for revenge. Just go read it, it's great.
5. The "Harry Potter" Series
I know this counts as more than one book, but I am going to package them into one option. I am also being hypocritical, as I have not finished all of the BOOKS. But I mean, it's Harry Potter, doesn't everyone need to read Harry Potter (if they haven't already).
6. "Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?" by Edward Albee
So this is actually a play, and one of the best I have ever read. It includes an old, crazy couple, who invite a young couple over for dinner and give them the most confusing, psychotic night of their life.
7. "Water for Elephants" by Sara Gruen
Remember that one awesome movie with Robert Pattinson and Reese Witherspoon, well guess what? It is an even more awesome book. If you are considering running away to join the circus, or even if you aren't, read this book.
8. "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee
If you HAVEN'T read this book, I am assuming you either have not entered middle school yet, or you lied to your middle school English teacher and "spark-noted" your way through that section of the class. If you have read it, read it again, it's so good.
9. "Jane Eyre" by Charlotte Bronte
This is the last classic on this list, I promise. On the real, though, this book is amazing and shows one hardcore woman. Give it a read.
10. "Nineteen Minutes" by Jodi Picoult
We got another Picoult here. Her books are seriously awesome, you should read all of them. Especially this one. This book shows the lives of people before and after a shooting at a high school. Have tissues handy.
11. "The Holy Bible"
I am being absolutely, completely literal when I say that this book will change your life.
Sorry to say it isn't a quick read, but it is a great read.
So, here are eleven out of the many books I have read in my short 20 years of life. These are the ones that have stuck out. These are the ones that can make someone who hates reading, love it.
