11 Bible Verses For The Weary Hearted

Have you ever felt heavy hearted? Tired? Oppressed? Weary?

If you have ever felt this way, then you know how hard it can be; if you are feeling this way now, you're not alone.

The things of this world can be draining; work, school, responsibilities, hardships, heartbreak, trials, and difficult times, living in this world is not an easy thing to do. But the Bible says that we were not made for this world. This is just our temporary home.

So if you have never have felt weary-hearted before, know that one day it will come because of the sin fallen world that we live in. Whether you have felt this way or not, here are 11 Bible verses that will help get you through it.

1. Psalms 73:26

"My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

2. John 14:27

"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid."

3. 2 Corinthians 12:9

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”

4. Matthew 11:28-30

"Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”

5. Psalm 55:22

"Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved."

6. Psalms 107:20

"He sent out his word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction."

7. 1 Peter 4:19

"Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good."

8. Romans 8:28

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."

9. 2 Corinthians 5:6-7

"So we are always of good courage. We know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord, for we walk by faith, not by sight."

10. Revelation 21:3-4

"And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, 'Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.'”

11. Psalm 147:3

"God heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds."

This verse particularly has been one that has helped me through a lot of trials that I have faced. It's something that I cling to knowing that God will heal my heart. It may take time, but He is in control in my life.

The world that we live in is sin fallen and imperfect. We are going to face trials and tribulations, but it also gives us a megaphone to share our faith with others. So if you're feeling burnt out, weary, tired, and down, turn it all over to God. Surrender everything to Him, and give Him control over it. Stop worrying and let Him take care of it.

As you enter this week, I encourage you to pray to Him that He gives you the strength to push through whatever you are facing. Know that it is only for a season and that God will use the bad things that we face for our good.

Trust in and talk to Him.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.
