Okay, people, Ed Sheeran is back and better than ever. This album is amazing and I'm already obsessed with it. To celebrate its release, I've compiled a list of some of my favorite lyrics from it. Let me tell you, it was hard to narrow this down, because Ed is basically a poetic genius and I love him.

Eraser

"I used to think that nothing could be better than touring the world with my songs // I chased the picture-perfect life, I think they painted it wrong"

I love the world play in this, it creates such a unique image in my mind.

And ain't nobody want to see you down in the dumps // Because you're living your dream and this should be fun

This reminds me of how we, the public, put this subconscious pressure on famous people to happy all the time, because “you're living your dream and this should be fun”. Just because you might have a “dream job” doesn’t mean you’re not allowed to be unhappy sometimes. Good food for thought here.

Dive

So don't call me baby
Unless you mean it
Don't tell me you need me
If you don't believe it
So let me know the truth
Before I dive right into you

Dang, this lyric is just so raw.

Galway Girl

I walked her home then she took me inside
Finish some Doritos and another bottle of wine
I swear I'm going to put you in a song that I write
About a Galway girl and a perfect night
She played the fiddle in an Irish band
But she fell in love with an English man
Kissed her on the neck and then I took her by the hand
Said, "Baby, I just want to dance"
My pretty little Galway girl

The melody for the chorus is fantastic and the Irish style he’s put into it amazing. Also, I love the lyric “finish some Doritos and another bottle of wine”, because honestly, same. Oh, who am I kidding, I love this whole song.

Happier

Cause baby you look happier, you do
My friends told me one day I'll feel it too
And until then I'll smile to hide the truth
B
ut I know I was happier with you

Ugh, Ed is just so real. I don’t know how he was able to so simplistically capture the feeling you get after a sad breakup, but damn did he do it well.

New Man

He's got his eyebrows plucked and his arsehole bleached

Best line on the album, hands down.

But still, I'm just keeping it real, still looking at your Instagram and I'll be creeping a little // I'll be trying not to double tap, from way back, cause I know that's where the trouble's at

I have a feeling all millennials can relate to this.

Honestly this whole song is a work of poetic genius, there are so many great lyrics it was hard to narrow it down.

What Do I Know

Ain't got a soapbox I can stand upon
But God gave me a stage, a guitar and a song
My daddy told me, "Son, don't you get involved in
Politics, religions or other people's quotes."
And I pass on these things my family's given to me
Just love and understanding, positivity
We could change this whole world with a piano
Add a bass, some guitar, grab a beat
And away we go
I'm just a boy with a one-man show
No university, no degree
But lord knows everybody's talking 'bout exponential growth
And the stock market crashing in their portfolios
While I'll be sitting here with a song that I wrote
Sing, love could change the world in a moment
But what do I know?

I love the groove this song has, and the chorus is just so cute.

Supermarket Flowers

Dad always told me don't you cry when you're down
But mum there's a tear every time that I blink
Oh I'm in pieces it's tearing me up but I know
A heart that's broke is a heart that's been loved
So I'll sing Hallelujah, you were an angel in the shape of my mum
When I fell down you'd be there holding me up
Spread your wings as you go
And when God takes you back
He'll say Hallelujah, you're home

I can’t even write about how beautiful this song is because I’m too busy crying over how beautiful this song is. So I bolded some lyrics that were powerful.

Barcelona

I fell in love with the sparkle in the moonlight
Reflected in your beautiful eyes, I guess that is destiny doing it right
So let's pretend we're dancing in the street
In Barcelona
Las Ramblas, I'll meet you, we'll dance around La Sagrada Familia
Drinking Sangria, mi niña, te amo mi cariño
Mamacita, rica, si tú, te adoro señorita
Los otros, viva la vida,
Come on let's be free in Barcelona
Las Ramblas, I'll meet ya, come on and dance with me, in Barcelona
Drinking Sangria, I just want to be in Barcelona
Mamacita, rica, feel that summer breeze in Barcelona,
Los otros, viva la vida, siempre vida

---Having been to Barcelona, I was like yaaaaaaaas. Especially since La Sagrada Familia basically changed my life. Anyway, this is such a great upbeat, dance, summer-y song.

Bibia Be Ye Ye

Someone told me, always say what's on your mind
And I am only, being honest with you, I I get lonely
And make mistakes from time to time
Se enioma enko ye
Bibia Be Ye Ye
Bibia Be Ye Ye Ye Ye Ye Ye Ye
Bibia Be Ye Ye

I love how Ed’s brought sounds from some different cultures on this album. It’s so fresh.

Nancy Mulligan

On the summer day when I proposed
I made that wedding ring from dentist gold
And I asked her father but her daddy said, "No,
You can't marry my daughter"
She and I went on the run
Don't care about religion
I'm gonna marry the woman I love
Down by the Wexford border
She was Nancy Mulligan
And I was William Sheeran
She took my name and then we were one
Down by the Wexford border

--Such cute storytelling!

Save Myself

I gave all my oxygen to people that could breath
I gave away my money and now we don't even speak
I drove miles and miles but would you do the same for me
Oh, honestly?
Offered up my shoulder just for you to cry upon
Gave you constant shelter and a bed to keep you warm
They gave me the heartache and in return I gave a song
It goes on and on and on
Life can get you down so I just numb the way it feels
I drown it with a drink and out of date prescription pills
And all the ones that love me, they just left me on the shelf, no farewell
So before I save someone else, I've got to save myself
But I guess it's just my nature
My dad was wrong, cause I'm not like my mum
Cause she'd just smile and I'm complaining in a song, but it helps
So before I save someone else, I've got to save myself
So before I save someone else, I've got to save myself
And before I blame someone else, I've got to save myself
And before I love someone else, I've got to love myself

Dang. What a great way to round out album. This song is so, so good, and honestly these lyrics are amazing.

So, there's my list. Now if you haven't listened to this album yet, you should go listen to it and cry because of how amazing it is. I promise, you won't regret it.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers
Adult Swim

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.

We're in college, none of us actually have anything together. In fact, not having anything together is one of our biggest stressors. However, there's a few little things that we do ever so often that actually make us feel like we have our lives together.

1. Making yourself dinner

And no this does not include ramen or Annie's Mac & Cheese. Making a decent meal for yourself is one of the most adult things you can do living on campus. And the food is much better than it would be at the dining hall.
