We all listen to music, that's just a fact. We have apps like Spotify and Pandora that open up the world of music to us in a way that hasn't been possible in the past. We don't always take advantage of the library of free music at our fingertips. Instead, we choose to listen to the music we are familiar with, but even listening to the Discover Playlist that Spotify creates just for you can introduce you to so many new artists and bands that you probably wouldn't find otherwise. Going to concerts and listening to the artists that are trying to promote their music before the show can introduce you to what could be your favorite band if you just give them the chance. I've put together a list of my favorite bands I've discovered that I probably wouldn't have found without Spotify and concerts.

1. Bad Seed Rising.

I found Bad Seed Rising at a concert about a year ago, but their music is defintely worth listening to.

2. 4 Door Theatre.

I listened to 4 Door Theatre on Spotify at a friend's suggestion. A year and a half later, and I've seen them 3 times, and they get better every show. These guys are seriously amazing.

3. CallmeKarizma.

I found Karizma at a concert. He was opening for a band that I love and it didn't take long for me to fall in love with his music, too.

4. Waterparks.

Waterparks was another opener whose music made me want to listen to more. I've been listening to them on repeat for the past week.

5. The 1975.

Okay, the 1975 is amazing. If you haven't listened to their music, you need to.... like NOW.

6. Night Riots.

Night Riots showed up on my Discover Playlist about a year ago and they've since released a really amazing album called "Love Gloom" that pretty much everyone should listen to.

7. Young Rising Sons.

Young Rising Sons is an amazing group. They haven't put out their first full length album yet (I'm still waiting though).

8. Set It Off.

I actually found Set It Off at Warped Tour this past Summer, and I have to say that choosing to watch their set was the best decision I've made in a while.

9. State Champs.

State Champs was touring with another band that I really love in 2015, and I have to say that I really wish I had found them sooner.

10. Megan and Liz.

I don't usually listen to country music, but Megan and Liz are one of the exceptions. I found them on YouTube and thought some of their covers were better than the original versions.

11. 3PM.

I found 3PM while standing in line for a concert. They're really talented and they aren't quite signed yet, but I'm sure they will be in the near future.

April Ludgate
NBC Universal

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
