11 Most Annoying Boston Tourist Questions
Always Photographing

Working in the tourist industry, and just growing up in a historical place, I have been asked a lot of really annoying and random questions from tourists. I am sure that almost everyone who grew up in or around Boston can relate to this. Here are just a few of the worst and most memorable ones.

1. While standing in front of the Old State House: "Is this where the governor lives?"

No. It isn't. It's museum...and a train station.

2. "Can you actually park your car in Harvard Yard?"

Again, no. Unless you're a Freshman on move in day.

3. "Why did they copy the design of the Washington Monument for the Bunker Hill one?"

For your information, the Bunker Hill Monument came first. It was completed in 1843, while construction on the Washington Monument started in 1848.

4. "Why are there so many Dunkin' Donuts?"

Because America runs on Dunkin' and America was born here. Also, please do not ask me where Starbucks is.

5. "Where did Whitey Bulger live?"

I don't know and I don't care.

6. "Did Sam Adams invent Sam Adam's beer?"

No, the Boston Beer Company which makes Sam Adams was founded in 1984, 181 years after Sam Adams died. He did, however, own a brewery.

7. "Why is Worcester pronounced that way?"

I don't know, ask England. They used the name first.

8. "Where is the nearest (insert chain restaurant name here)?"

You should not be going to chain restaurants while staying in Boston! Especially if you're near the North End.

9. "Have you ever met Tom Brady or David Ortiz?"

No I haven't. They make way too much money to spend any time wandering around the city. Maybe some Bruins' players but not them.

10. "Why doesn't your accent sound like JFK's?"

Believe it or not, most people from Boston do not sound like the Kennedy's. Usually, only snobs do.

11. "Do you get annoyed by stupid tourist questions?"

Yes I do. And just because you asked me that and are trying to relate to me, it doesn't mean yours are less annoying.

Epic Creation Myths: Norse Origins Unveiled

What happened in the beginning, and how the heavens were set in motion.

The Norse Creation Myth

Now, I have the everlasting joy of explaining the Norse creation myth. To be honest, it can be a bit kooky, so talking about it is always fun. The entire cosmos is included in this creation myth, not just the earth but the sun and the moon as well. This will be a short retelling, a summary of the creation myth, somewhat like I did with Hermod's ride to Hel.

We all scroll through the radio stations in the car every once in a while, whether its because we lost signal to our favorite one or we are just bored with the same ol' songs every day.
