Humans often think that we are the only ones on Earth. However, there are animals and their habitats that we are destroying. We need to take better care of the Earth we live on because it’s the only one we get. These animals are so cute and they are endangered, so we need to work together to save them from extinction.
1. Red panda
These adorable animals may look like foxes but they aren’t. They grow about the size of a regular cat and they’re herbivores. They tend to be found in mountain ranges and sleep hanging.
2. White Rhinoceros
They are generally found in southern Africa in the grasslands or the savanna. They spend about half the day eating, the other half is mainly grazing. Mud holes are their favorite place to hangout and cool off. They like to communicate to each other with grunts. These grunts change a lot based on mating, courting and other types of situations.
3. Sea Otter
Native to the northern Pacific Ocean, these adorable little guys and gals are insulated so that they don’t get cold in the frigid waters of the Pacific. When they fall asleep, they hold hands or cuddle so they won’t float away from each other. Guys, we cannot let anything this cute go extinct!
4. Sea Turtle
One of the major issues sending all sea turtles into the endangered list is environmental pollution. When there are fast food straws, plastic bags or even old fishing lines in the water, the turtles can get caught in them or the straws get stuck in their noses. Turtles can live for over a hundred years and are a true test of how badly humans are treating our animals.
5. Sloth
Sloths have the world’s worst metabolism. Did you know that their food sometimes doesn’t digest fast enough, and their body thinks they are starving? So they actually starve to death with a full stomach. They seem slow, but in fact, their food isn’t turned into energy fast enough. The half the day they aren’t eating or hanging around, they are sleeping. Y’all we can’t let my spirit animal die off. Save the sloths!
6. Chinchilla
They’re in the rodent family and their name is literally means “little chincha.” They are named after the Chincha people of the Andes Mountains. Their fur is super soft, and that’s what led them to be on the endangered list.
7. Bandicoot
The Eastern Barred Bandicoot is actually extinct in the wild. The ones that are still around today are bred in captivity. They are found in Australia naturally and that’s where the zoos are that raise the bandicoots.
8. Blue Whale-
There are three species and each of them are distinct to their ocean; the Pacific, Atlantic, and the Indian. They all eat krill and plankton, so essentially, they eat what no one else wants. Why wouldn’t you want a whale that is like a 98-foot garbage disposal, because I think that sounds cool?
9. Dhole
These animals with a funny name are basically fox-wolf-dog hybrids. They are adorable and are found in central and southeast Asia. Like many wolves, the dholes live in packs and rarely travel anywhere alone.
10. Fossa
Similar to a mongoose, these cute little guys are unique to Madagascar. They are the largest carnivorous predators on the island. Which to me is shocking since they are on the brink of extinction.
11. Giant Panda Bear
The pandas we all know and love are going to go extinct if we aren't careful. Sanctuaries are being built near their natural habitat of Asia — mainly China. The cuddly creatures honestly just want to eat their bamboo and sleep, and humans are ruining their daily routine.
Without these and many other animals, we wouldn’t have all the funny pictures and videos. So just be nice to the world around you and be nice!
