If you are a soon-to-be freshman at Hofstra University, then get excited because Hofstra is an amazing school and you are going to have a great year. If you are a returning Hofstra student, then get excited because you know that you are in for another crazy year. Here's just a handful of all of the amazing moments that every Hofstra student experiences.

1. When you're at Hof USA with your friends and your buzzer goes off first.

This is a rare and beautiful occurrence. Mozzarella sticks here I come.

2. Getting the text that classes are cancelled when it snows.

Snow, thank you for letting us avoid responsibilities without any punishment. Bless you for letting us sleep in. Snow, you are loved.

3. Getting an email from your professor that class is cancelled.

Wait... you aren't forcing me to sit in your lecture for an hour and a half?!

4. When Freshens has no line.

No line = day made (plus a meal that won't make you gain the freshmen 15.... or sophomore, junior, or senior 15)

5. Spotting a Hofstra cat.

Hofstra is known for its adorable cats that roam the campus. The temptation to pet them is always real. The temptation to steal them and bring them to your dorm can also be real if you're a cat person.

6. Actually getting money back when returning your textbooks.

Alright let's be honest, the majority of us are using Amazon, Chegg, or we are taking the risk of not even buying or renting the textbooks we need. However, on those rare occasions that we do use the Hofstra bookstore, actually getting a decent amount of money back at the end of the semester is a blessing.

7. Finally walking into a house or bar after walking in the freezing cold.

Hey will you look at that, I can feel my fingers again!

8. Running into friends on the unispan.

Walking to class just got a little bit better.

9. When your professor tells you there's no absence policy.

Well, you won't be seeing much of me anymore. I will still show up for tests, I promise.

10. Getting Sbarros or Hof USA after a night out with friends.

Bless them for being open late. They are always greatly appreciated.

11. That glorious moment when you get into all of the classes you wanted without any issues.

Lit schedule. Lit life. But seriously, signing up for classes and making your schedule is beyond stressful. So when everything works out smoothly, it is truly glorious.

Your college years can be stressful at times but at the end of the day they really are the best four years of your life. So study hard, party hard, and go pride!!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
