Spring break is fast approaching. As students begin to consider where their friends and them will travel for a little R and R, Florida and Mexico seem to come to mind. However. here are just a few of the many places to travel this spring break that stray away from the stereotypical college student destinations.

1. Alaska

2. Dominican Republic

Take a trip to this tropical region and do a little service for the local villages.

3. Canada

The drinking age is 18, and you could spend virtually nothing on transportation by road tripping with friends.

4. New Orleans

If you're looking for another service location, there is still devastation left from Hurricane Katrina more than a decade later.

5. Utah

6. Peru

Have an incredible experience climbing the steps of Machu Picchu.

7. Galapagos

Get your Darwin on.

8. Bermuda

Did I mention that flights round trip start at just $800? I wonder if this is because of the infamous triangle...

10. Cambodia

It may cost you to get there, but prices in the country are relatively cheap.

You can kiss the Blarney Stone and you might even find a pot of gold.
